Father's Day: spent most of the afternoon at the local cricket ground, playing catch and frisbee with my daughter while watching my son score 43 stylish runs, before coming on myself with 3 needed from the last 9 balls, and to everyone's surprise, scoring them. With actual cricket shots! A good day.

"And with the last kick of the game Che Adams gets his hat-trick against Liechtenstein! That's the first Scotland player to score a hat trick since 2019, when John McGinn scored one against San Marino." And they say stats don't tell the whole story.

I love Captain Beefheart but... maybe 3 times. My Don top 5 5. Lick My Decals Off Baby 4. Strictly Personal 3. Safe As Milk 2. Bongo Fury (with Frank Zappa) 1. Clear Spot

Re last repost: Obviously correct, but it takes only a few replies before two dog owners chime in to explain that their dangerous, sorry, "reactive" dogs are a threat to other people and this is: other people's fault.

I notice this stuff the most acutely in New York, where, to be frank, I am leaving a place in London to spend time where my cousins live, which is in many ways basically the same place, except less pedestrian-friendly, right down to the fact it is the same *type of dog* people have, but: wow!

Oh go on then

So Severance Season 2 was really good, and did hit a lot of the targets it was aiming for... But there was also a clear element of, "We don't need to answer that now, we've just booked another season" which bodes ill

See? See? Now do you see? Dogs. Are. Bad

A thing I occasionally wonder is if reduced exposure to Biblical tales is making even mainstream culture of the past less current/accessible/resonant. [quoted comment re. Aslan's appearance as a lamb in Dawntreader..]

My crustiest opinion, which in fairness I've had since primary school: teachers are too enthusiastic about engaging kid's creativity. WBD should be - and evidently was - about reading books. But now it's about dressing up. Because that's fun and helps kids express themselves right?

Well, now we all know who everybody is, as if we didn't already.

Finally, some good news www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

He was later described by the whale as "nice, but nubbly"

There's a line in The Wire about how if as an addict you make a list of all the things you won't do to get a fix, you're really making a list of all the things you *will* do. I am in no position to make forecasts but this does seem like a checklist worth keeping handy.

Changes I'd be interested to see: 1) Masons- 2 or 3 Faithful who know each others' alignment. Very powerful if they make it to the end, but obvious targets if they reveal themselves too early. Helps the faithful, but Traitors have chance to sniff them out and murder.
