These guys voted for Trump bc they thought it would be great for business. It's not just a "leopards ate my face" situation. There's a larger problem with business ghouls not understanding that capitalism cannibalizes the conditions of its own possibility and therefore requires regulation to work.

It is consistently wild to see this rash of pieces on Covid that are all about its origin and its politics, by people continuing to steadfastly ignore that it’s still here, it’s still killing people, there’s a rising mass of disabled people from it, and that all of that is preventable.

This pretty obvious but: this attack isn’t just about beating Harvard into submission. International students themselves are a threat to MAGA America. Inclusion broadly conceived builds global collaboration and advances cosmopolitan ethics and politics. Non-citizens strengthen American democracy.

To be fair, the hidden curriculum isn’t just for students. I feel like every new academic experience I’ve encountered has come with a plethora of unspoken rules that I had to learn the hard way. Maybe it’s just my neurodivergent brain, but I appreciate transparency in procedure and expectations.
