Things in the US are pretty much shit right now, but at my kid's school concert tonight a trans kid sang and played ukulele in front of the entire school & their families and absolutely fucking nailed it, to thunderous applause. Trans people and trans joy has always existed, and always will. ❤️

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

Little lizard buddies are not what I particularly wanted cat to hunt, but, a) glad he spotted it sneaking in when I hadn't, b) he's already caught flies and crickets to earn my favor, c) the lizards are FAST, over the course of several pets I've never seen one caught.

On my way down to the mailbox after an unexpectedly dramatic rain/thunder/hail storm... I was greeted by the first turtle of the year! She very kindly let us study her nifty little claws as she scooted across the driveway from one chunk of tree cover to the next.
