Jackie's most sublime vocal performance 😍... WHAT A BEAUTY OF A TRACK, maybe my fav DBD youtu.be/FkcAUX-GS-c?...

The second excellent beer film from the BBC Archive in as many weeks— this one's just an extract though. But it's with Fyfe Robinson (legend) = essential viewing. Some cracking lines! youtu.be/PgnlfEE2Q-8?...

The Philpott File: Another Little Drink: The Brewer and the Beer, originally broadcast on BBC Two in 1977 youtu.be/ApPpymQG9zw?...

I've had Daniel Lentz's Ending(s) on repeat today. Unending(s) in this case. So good. The gradual weight of 'Continental Divide' builds and builds. Road music, very American. It has a sense of hypnotic inevitability to it.

Ah bless, and he's even got his little red trousers on.

Had the new Ava Mendoza album on repeat all day and failed to get any work done because it's so brain-dominatingly good #ForegroundMusic

Heartily recommend this 2007 live rec by John Tchicai, Charlie Kohlhase, Garrison Fewell, Cecil McBee & Billy Hart - best thing I've heard in ages. Group improv that's totally in service to the music. nobusinessrecords.bandcamp.com/album/tribal...

And now that's the South Downs Way done: 100 miles LAMF. Prettier than NDW but beset by Other People Enjoying Themselves, and the knee-martyring has now given me patellofemoral pain syndrome, so I'm on the strong beers again, cooking up the next mission. Keeps my head straight.

R.I.P. Auerbach's Charcoal Heads at The Courtauld earlier this year was a revelation to me. www.theguardian.com/artanddesign...
