“Well then,” said Toad, “a little more sleep will not hurt me.”

It can be challenging gardening on the edge of a moor - the wind is brutal - especially when you have an acre to contend with. I am still learning a decade on that I can't control it and I need to roll with it - so it goes a bit wild, however, I'm finding it photographically inspiring.

Maybe we could think about solving our problems without resorting to violence that costs countless lives. Just a thought...

Still not a single enquiry about Brady. A former romanian street dog, now in foster in Suffolk UK. Cat, dog, chicken and child friendly. Clever, healthy and fun. A perfect dog for an active family. Please share him.

I'm finding the 'show less' not really working for me. Even after muting, blocking, I still see similar posts. I have nothing against those showcasing their torsos; it's just not something I'm interested in. Does @support.bsky.team have any advice or is this a common issue as bluesky settles in?

My partner & I were trying to ID a bird we heard while walking and the guy who had stopped his car to let us pass got out and was like "it's a frog, actually. Cope's Gray. I do frog surveys... Sorry" And then got in his car without a word and drove off. Absolute king

When you worship power, compassion and mercy will look like sins. When you worship power, the harsher the treatment towards your "enemies," the more righteous it will look. When you worship power, the value and dignity of others is solely measured by their conformity to you.

Brady says it is too damned hot for action today. He said he and foster dad Will are doing their best to stay still and not generate heat! I know how you feel Brady 🥵 Two year old Brady is currently on Suffolk in foster but looking for his own home. Please keep sharing.

Not mine, but isn't it amazing? So evocative.

There’s a Dutch phrase about feeling anxious that translates to “shitting seven colours of sludge.” A Bulgarian version is “deep in thought like a fat pig before Christmas.” But my favourite variant is the Puerto Rican como cocodrilo en fábrica de carteras, or “like a crocodile in a wallet factory.”

A woman on the Tube sketches lilies with a black pen. Her large sketchbook lies across her lap as she works, its textured paper catching the light. She wears a grey, pinstriped jacket, the sleeves of which, end in fragile white lace, its edges seeming to want to drop onto the paper, to join the ink.

Artist Stuart Semple is giving £30,000 of art supplies to 50 schools in one day – a bold stand against the creative crisis in UK classrooms.

Today, I stumbled upon this tiny orchid in a park, bravely flourishing despite being surrounded by weed killers, exhaust fumes, dog waste & litter. It almost brought me to tears to see such beauty and strength in such a harsh environment. Nature's ability to survive and flourish is truly inspiring.

20 years ago we used to do a T-shirt that just said “God Bless Brian Wilson” in the Pet Sounds font and one day we got an email from Brian’s guitar player asking to buy them for the band. Obviously we just sent them to him. He sent us back a lovely letter and this. Treasure.

Sad to hear of Peter's passing. His work transformed our perception of addiction, framing it as a health issue rather than a criminal one. He played a crucial role in establishing safe spaces for drug consumption, undoubtedly saving lives. I hope he finds peace, knowing the profound impact he made.

This is Max. He snuck out in the middle of the night and walked 5 miles to get a breakfast burrito from a store that gave him one once. They hadn't opened yet when he got there, but Max was found the next morning thanks to his GPS collar patiently waiting outside for his well-earned snack. 14/10

Not enough grown up clothes have fun animals on them. Or dinosaurs, or diggers. Why do kids get all the cool stuff?

🚨 The Scottish Government has listened to the 50,000 people who demanded they recall the approval of Flamingo Land's destructive Loch Lomond mega-resort plans! Ministers will now consider the application directly, not leave it up to officials. They must reject it and end this sorry saga ⛔🦩
