She is not “likely dead in the eyes of the law.” She is dead both legally & in the sense her body cannot even perform basic functions like breathing or sustaining a heartbeat without invasive intervention. They are animating a corpse to let cells multiply in it. It is horror worse than Frankenstein.

This is exactly why I press Democrats to push back. The media might do this kind of fact-checking on its own, but when a prominent Democrat makes the case for them, it's much more likely they'll run a piece like this. Well done, @amyklobuchar.com and @sltrib.com

You mean people don't like to be be attacked?

Gavin Newsom vetoed a data broker privacy bill that our legislature passed last year that would have allowed Californians to opt out of all data brokers with a single click.

I know a lot of people just don't really know much about foreign cities, but please imagine how it would go if someone told all of NYC to evacuate "immediately," and then add two million more people to that scenario

Very cool that several people who used to yell at me in DMs for being too mean to Facebook are now running some sort of extralegal posse informally deputized by the actual United States Army.

Cool atproto apps thread!

I cannot believe they are evacuating Tehran! That’s like an order to evacuate New York! What is this world coming to?!!

Essential point in this exchange with @willsommer.bsky.social: Trump-Miller have to target noncriminals for deportation because it's the only way to get the numbers they need to try for "full-scale ethnic change." Terror is central to this. Will is very good here: newrepublic.com/article/1968...

this deadline is TODAY to put in comments against the DOE making life harder for disabled people. Links w instructions below: bsky.app/profile/did:...

🦊 NEW(ish) WORK! For the last few months I’ve been helping out at @unbreaking.org, a volunteer-powered project that’s documenting the administration’s attacks on US institutions. They’re bringing clarity to the chaos, and it’s been a privilege to work with them. ethanmarcotte.com/wrote/unbrea...

This is legitimately terrifying. Almost 10 million people live within the city limits of Tehran with another almost 7 million additional people in the metro area. There are 8 million people in NYC. How the FUCK would we all be able to "evacuate" with no notice??? THIS IS EVIL. PERIOD.

I rarely go to Twitter and when I do I make sure to keep it quick. Part of the reason is that the place is an open sewer and I don’t miss the stench at all. But another part is that I invariably see someone I know who’s still posting there and just lose a lot of respect for them.

I wrote about Democrats' obsession with calling Trump's actions a "distraction," and how it reflects their failure to understand the modern media ecosystem.

Is there a reason Smith hasn't called for his censure?

Mike Lee is the way he is because there are zero consequences for being a lying sack of shit

i am glad that more people are catching on to the fact that mike lee is a total degenerate

This is obviously ridiculous but it is kind of bleakly funny that this advice more or less has the same beats as advice about what to do if you encounter a bear in the woods, just in terms of the unknowability of the other party. "Make yourself appear larger and the cop will usually run away."

What I learned today is that the @nytopinion.nytimes.com doesn’t believe in young people of color in leadership. Time and time again people tout “seniority” and “experience”. 75 years ago, there were no women of color elected in NY. Where is “seniority” or “experience” to come from for us?

Facts matter.

Pretty striking how trans people are two of the three reasons he gives for sending armed kidnappers into major cities, just detached scapegoating for the sake of scapegoating

The stupidest people are in charge because we couldn’t prosecute a political crime because it would look too political.

This is the politicization of law enforcement. It's not about "immigration," it's about demonizing cities and winning elections

Quick reminder that the majority of Americans live in cities, "real America" is urban, and when people scream obscenities about cities they are screaming obscenities about America.

to be clear: when they write "Democrats" they actually mean Third Way and a guy who was a Deputy Mayor 25 years ago

It's always interesting to compare the numbers to the Tea Party protests and the respective coverage of them.

The MN murderer seems to be Erik Prince without the trust fund. A Christian missionary/anti-communist paramilitary type reminiscent of any number of Christian anti-communists from the Cold War era who would travel the world killing and/or converting people for Christ. fortune.com/2025/06/14/m...

here’s the moment LASD advanced on protestors with horses and used flash-bangs as we reported live yesterday. www.msnbc.com/msnbc/amp-vi...

Why is it impossible to never hear from someone ever again

If you don’t think Christian privilege is real or a pervasive problem, just mildly criticize one of the many problematic things Jesus said or did in the gospels. Then step back and brace yourself for the 87 people who will immediately pop up to shout you down in defense of his honor

Spare a few thoughts for all of the organizers who pulled off yesterday's rallies.

👇 genuinely don’t understand why people are unable to comprehend “don’t get AI to do something for you if you can’t understand whether it has produced the wrong answer”.

Don't underestimate the value of sending care packages to comrades and friends in this time. People really appreciate being considered and thought about.

Tear gas can cause long-term health consequences by making people more susceptible to contracting respiratory illnesses, including COVID. The chemical agent can also hurt people inside their homes if it seeps into residential neighborhoods. What you need to know (published 2020):

This is serious, rigorous analysis and it should change the way the media has been covering these protests. These were, in the aggregate, *massive.*
