“The best way to honor our parents' memory is to do something, whether big or small, to make our community just a little better for someone else." Beautiful statement from Sophie and Colin Hortman.

Quite possibly the one reasonable thing he has said on the matter.

Carlson is one of the top five worst people in US politics but let’s be real: he murders Cruz here.

We must prevent Iran from ever having a nuclear weapon, and support Israel’s ability to defend itself. But the President cannot declare war on Iran or launch strikes against it without Congressional approval. Congress must not cede that authority to this or any other president.

Colorado's KNUS-AM played a key role in boosting unsupported claims that the 2020 election was rigged by Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems. KNUS' owner, Salem Radio, is now offering an apology and retraction.

HIRONO: If ordered by the president to shoot peaceful protesters in the legs, would you carry it out? HEGSETH: Of course I reject the premise of your question HIRONO: Considering that the president in his first term actually ordered such a thing, it's not a premise you can reject

This is an excellent splice of Tim Snyder's speech on what's next after No Kings. Maddow is doing extraordinary antifascist programming on a national network and it sucks how much bravery that takes right now.

Kaine first reviews the bios of the people for whom bases were renamed. Then asks why Whiskey Pete why he didn't like their service. Then asks what families said when Hegseth told the families. He claimed Army informed them. Nope, Kaine says, the press did. Several family members were in the room.

HIRONO: If a court says this deployment of troops into our cities is not legal, would you follow that court's order? HEGSETH: I don't believe district courts should be determining national security policy. If it goes to the Supreme Court, we'll see.

“Of those men who have overturned the liberties of republics, the greatest number have begun their career by paying an obsequious court to the people; commencing demagogues, and ending tyrants.” — Alexander Hamilton (1755/57–1804), The Federalist No. 1 (1787)

Trump’s Legal Loophole Renames Bases to Celebrate Confederacy for @theunpopulist.net

Oof. You knows it's bad when Tucker Carlson makes you look like the dumb one.

The federal government imposing a stop work order on Trevor project for the national 988 suicide hotline on the same day that the Supreme Court greenlit a ban on care despite the risk of suicide sends a clear message: The United States government officially wants trans youth to kill themselves.

"We're not saying you can't get health care because you're transgender, which would be illegal. We're just saying we refuse to treat the conditions that cause you to be transgender. That's different and okay." A pathetic, indefensible logical pretzel from SCOTUS

I have watched this exchange between Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz a couple of times because it is unbelievable. It looks like no one took their meds in the MAGA asylum for the politically insane. After watching this interview, Tucker needs to do Trump next.

Sen. Tim Kaine confronts Sec. Hegseth about the military's failure to inform families of U.S. service members whose names are being taken off of military bases to restore their former Confederate honorees. They learned it was happening via press reports.

KAINE: When you called the Gregg family to tell them that their dad's name was no longer gonna be on the base, what was their reaction? HEGSETH: The Army notified them K: You didn't call any of the families. I've spoken with them. They were called by the press. That's how they learned about this

Lurking under the surface of the 6–3 majority is a split over how to evaluate laws that indisputably discriminate against transgender people. Barrett, Thomas, and Alito say that anti-trans discrimination is not subject to heightened scrutiny. Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch don't say either way.

"In sadness, I dissent."

So this is why he left the G7 summit early? To install “the most magnificent poles”?🤡

Get the federal troops out of L.A. Now.

New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism “'I’ve never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable,' Judge Young fumed. 'I’ve sat on this bench now for 40 years. I’ve never seen government racial discrimination like this.' *More of this, please*"

Not only INFURIATING BUT TRAGIC Children will DIE The heartless SCOTUS just issued a death sentence to our Trans Gender Youth Please please now more than ever stand up for our Trans community

We’ll see?

I don’t care what city or town you live in. If these guys jumped out of an unmarked van and grabbed you on the street, would you just assume they’re ICE or FBI? Would you willingly comply with their orders and get inside the van? THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. THIS IS NOT AMERICA.

I hear Utah Senator @basedmikelee.bsky.social has a whole collection of Holocaust jokes.

Why is it that legal loopholes can only be exploited by bad guys to do bad things, and not good people who want to do good things?

🤥 @sentedcruz : “If Iran gets a nuclear weapon I think odds are high we would find out with a mushroom cloud over New York City or Los Angeles.” After getting humiliated by Tucker, Cruz hops on to beat the drums for war and fearmonger to the Fox audience.

Maybe reporters should have the courage to ask politicians simple questions like this. I bet we’d get similar results.

Tonight, I'll go home and sleep in my bed. I have a lawyer, I'll get due process. But Edgardo, whose arm was ripped from mine by ICE agents, has none of those things. That's why I'll keep coming back to court, week after week, to make sure that people's rights are protected.

If you watch one thing tonight, let it be this. This is delicious.

This lede is the most evergreen tweet if Trump 2.0: “The White House is signaling it may soon invoke a little-known and legally untested power” www.nytimes.com/2025/06/17/u...

The mad king has his eye on the ball, as always

This is sooooo Trump! 😂😂😂

Padilla gave this speech on the floor pretty much as the news of Brad Lander's arrest in New York was breaking. Two Democratic lawmakers tackled and handcuffed by federal law enforcement in the span of a week.

I’d like to say “we’re better than this.” But the truth is that this dark and hateful strain of nativism and bigotry has always pulsed through the body politic of America. Now, however, it’s’ being activated and applauded from a lawless White House.

Hi, it’s Meg again. Brad is still in ICE custody. We are grateful to the many friends, supporters, and allies who have gathered in Federal Plaza. Together we are standing up for those with no voice.

On his trip to the UAE, Trump agreed to give valuable U.S. AI technology to a UAE-owned company — just two weeks after ERIC Trump struck a deal with another UAE firm to use $2 billion to boost the Trump family's crypto business. I broke down this brazen, pay-to-play corruption last week:

A Signal message sent by a Mesa County sheriff's deputy to a group chat organized by the feds led to Caroline Dias Goncalves' arrest within minutes of this traffic stop. The department claims this was unintentional, but won't say what the message was or why the deputy sent it.
