Excited to have the first paper of my PhD out in Geomorphology this week, using multibeam bathymetry to explore the sources lake tsunami in active tectonic settings. To find out more visit: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.geomorph.2024.109359 #Geohazards #Geomorphology #Tsunami

Here's Temblor's analysis of the M6.2 earthquake that struck the Marmara Fault near Istanbul. This quake was felt by a city of nearly 16 million people, but thankfully, the fault itself lies 15 km south of the city. Read more, in our latest, by Stein and Sevilgen. temblor.net/earthquake-i...

🚨Remember🚨 NEVER try to drive through flood waters - most deaths from floods are vehicle related. You’re also risking others lives and property 😞 Don’t walk, swim or play in flood waters - assume they are contaminated (human and/or animal sewerage, chemicals) or electrically charged. Stay safe ❤️

Cool. Thanks Max

🟧Severe Weather Update🟧 Heavy rain and blustery northerly winds are on the way! The largest accumulations are forecast for the northwest of the South Island where 350-450mm of rain is forecast. This area could still be upgraded to a Red Warning.

Forgot to tag ⚒️ 🧪 I take the opportunity to mention that ~3.2m is the offset localised on the visible fault rupture. It is possible that a proportion of more diffuse deformation must be added on both sides. This remains to be measured.

The middle building is moving a lot more than the shorter & taller ones either side. It’s a real world example of the BOSS model simulation - how an earthquake can resonate with buildings that have matching natural frequencies, and seemingly leave others unaffected. www.LinkedIn.com/posts/mehrta...

Our CEO, Ross Stein, talked with KPIX CBS Bay Area News about the M7.7 quake that struck Myanmar earlier today. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfEw...

A M7.7 earthquake struck Myanmar and has caused both destruction and death. The link below includes a short summary of what we know, as well as a Temblor map and Coulomb stress transfer model. temblor.net/earthquake-i...
