You know when the train's late & there's a PA announcement saying "the train is delayed", & no explanation? The ARC just did that👇 "outcomes announcements … are currently delayed". Why? Nothing. They thank you for "understanding" … without giving you any information or explanation to understand.

No update from ARC about ongoing Linkage Projects & Laureate Fellowships delays. On 29th May, ARC told @jsresearchpro.bsky.social they couldn’t "provide further detail”👇 Remember, they told us to wait for an update a month ago. Nothing since. Seems so out of touch. Just explain what's happening!

#ARCschedule Jun25 Outcomes for Linkage Projects (LP24r2) & Laureate Fellowships expected. Massively delayed. ARC provides no info. Other events: 🔹Linkage Projects (LP25r2) apps due? 🔹Rejoinders: Open for Discovery Projects, DECRA, LIEF; Close for Discovery Indigenous, Linkage Projects (LP25r1)

Can you believe that I was part of a team that submitted an ARC Linkage in September 2024 and there's still no outcome - and no real sign of an outcome? (I mean yeah, you probably can believe it)

Is ARC breaching its own legislation right now? ARC Act says grant outcomes have to be announced within 21 days of Board approval👇 Outcomes for Linkage Projects & Laureate Fellowships were anticipated weeks ago. If ARC Board approved before anticipated dates, they should've been announced by now.

In memoriam Here appears the former shadow Education Minister, Senator Sarah Henderson. May she rest on the back bench in peace.

We have been relieved of Senator Sarah Henderson's tenure as shadow Education Minister. Her highlight was promising to bring back Ministerial veto over individual researchers' ARC grants while relentlessly pursuing a researcher, whose politics she didn't like, in public & Estimates.

Assessments for Linkage Projects 2025 (round 1) should now be available in RMS. Some DMers reported problems viewing them initially, but that seems to be resolved now.

ARC informed Research Offices last week that a major change was needed to all existing grant agreements relating to new rules for reporting & conflicts of interest. Apparently, this caused problems in RMS for current grants. Last night, RMS went down between about 10pm & 7am (AEST). Related? 🤔

Almost 2 weeks since ARC's "update" on delays to Linkage Projects & Laureate outcomes. Nothing since. Not even a schedule for announcements. "We are aware this affects applicants". OK. But it also affects applicants for next round (apps due 25 Jun). Also affects industry partners; EOFY is coming.

A DMer reports that the ARC have said Linkage Projects and Laureate Fellowships outcomes won't be announced this week. Nor is it likely that even a schedule for those announcements will be published this week. What on earth is going on there??

There's now 2 schemes for which the announcements are late: Linkage Projects & Laureate Fellowships. Despite knowing this might happen more than a month ago, ARC still haven't got a new timeline! The outcomes will have been determined, and only require ARC Board sign-off (not the Minister).

ARC once again smashing it out of the park with an extremely helpful "update"👇 (▶️ www.arc.gov.au/news-publica...) This "update" tells us there'll be updates in future. They had the entire Caretaker period to reschedule the Linkage Projects & Laureate Fellowships announcements…

I'm no social media doyen & don't read much into "likes", but I'm guessing that 2 in 24+ hours isn't the engagement the ARC are shooting for. If you're in a position to encourage the ARC to join Bluesky, maybe give them a call? (Note: Landline probably best. Email is new to them – best avoided.)
