Perioidic reminder that the reason you didn't see autistic people with intellectual disabilities on the street five decades ago was not because they didn't exist. It's because they were sent away to institutions and their parents were told to put away pictures of them.

TW: SA This was shared on our sub this morning. At the TEC Milenio school in Mexico, a 16 year boy with ADHD was allegedly 🍇'd by 5 boys in a bathroom. The school suspended THE VICTIM and tried to gaslight him into thinking he made the story up. All while nothing was done to the attackers.

It should go without saying, but Trump's claims that Autism in Children was "1 in 10,000, 20 years ago" is straight up wrong. CDC data from 2005 has Autism as 1 in 125 in Children.
