A year ago today, a jury of everyday New Yorkers concluded Donald Trump was a criminal. They looked at the evidence, pondered for a while, & reasoned that he — without a doubt — faked documents to hide a sexual affair from voters in 2016. I was in the courtroom then. He's in the White House now.

And just like that, the motion is also… denied. *shocked pikachu face* Judge Xinis does not seem particularly happy about it either. #delaydelaydelaydenied storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

BREAKING: Trump's executive order targeting WilmerHale is unconstitutional, Judge Richard Leon — a GWB appointee — finds. "The Founding Fathers knew this!" storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

On Friday, a 2d judge—a George W. Bush appointee—struck down in its entirety a 2d of the Trump executive orders aimed at deterring law firms from representing causes that Trump disagrees with. It's well-written. Thread. ... 1/16 storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I said it would get worse very quickly. By tomorrow we will have completed the most dangerous & frightening 24 hours thus far of Trump 2.0. Just to name a few: 1. Defiance of a court order by sending migrants to Sudan without due process (despite clear DP decision SCOTUS) & Dist. CT. order.

A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

This is a must-read: The Trump administration's use of anti-semitism to attack immigrants and higher education mirrors plans by a group of Christian nationalists in the Heritage Foundation (which produced Project 2025). 🧵 www.nytimes.com/2025/05/18/u...

people need to internalize, very quickly, that federal research grants are a hypercompetitive contracting process not charity, and that what Uncle Sam gets in return for that money is American dominance in the future

Screenshots here of an amazing exchange on X. Axios reporter Alex Thompson's new book on Biden claims (with no sources) that Biden shook DNC chair Jaime Harrison's hand without recognizing him. Harrison posts "it never happened". Then Axios editor Jake Wilkins - wow - tells Harrison he's wrong! 1/

She’s out!! They have released Ozturk from ICE custody!

Holy moly. Check out this tweet from the new American pope. I’m sure MAGA would hate it if you reposted this right this minute.

This is wild. Fox News is telling viewers the polls showing Trump tanking can't be right because he's a world-historical success. But even some callers to right wing media are saying the tariffs are a huge problem for them. Exchange w @mattgertz.bsky.social on this: newrepublic.com/article/1948...

Ashley Babbit's family is poised to recieve 30 million dollars (from tax payers) thanks to the Dept of Justice... Mrs Sicknick just wanted a phone call and the people who assaulted her son Brian held accountable.

“The whole thing feels like Black Mirror.” “He would listen to the bot over me.” “It gave my husband the title of ‘spark bearer’ because he brought it to life.” Relationships are being destroyed thanks to spiritual mania, supernatural delusions, and arcane prophecy — all fueled by AI chatbots:

The savvy will scoff, but I am completely serious about this. Congressional Dems should introduce a constitutional amendment to limit the pardon power and force votes on it whenever they can. Dem presidential wannabes should endorse the idea. Blue states should signal support.

Rep Eric Swalwell walked out in *shock*—and who could blame him? Every single GOP member on the House Judiciary Committee just voted to let Trump “deport” American citizens. This is illegal, authoritarian, and unforgivable 🤬 Time to call, write, & protest before the full House votes.

1. Clay Jackson, a Texas lawyer, provided basic legal advice to an immigrant family fearing deportation Then, two officers visited him at his home, accusing him of "obstructing an ongoing immigration investigation" Then, after speaking publicly, he was fired from his job at a Fortune 500 company

The entire transcript of Time's interview with Trump is insane. Just to pick one moment: Trump says Biden would never do an interview with Time, then when told that he had asks how it went, then when told he can read it himself says that he had read it and it didn't go well time.com/7280114/dona...

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

When Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking, Trump intervened to fly him back to the US. When a working-class father of a disabled 5-year-old child was wrongfully deported and charged with NO crime, Trump refuses to lift a finger.

Boyle: It’s pretty striking that literally all Donald Trump had to do was nothing. He could sit there, watch Fox News all day, sit with the remote control, occasionally tweet, and then on weekends go down to Mar-a-Lago and play golf. But instead, he purposely went about ruining this economy.

Obama: Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials. Imagine if I had said to law firms that you will not be allowed into government buildings. It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive. No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief. 1/ A 🧵 to explain his plan and how we fight back.

This part of the Tufts declaration somehow warms my heart the most: a full-throated defense of Rümeysa Ötürk's op-ed criticizing the Tufts president, signed by the Tufts president! This is how it's supposed to be!

So let me get this straight: as he was framing Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic as lowlife scum for accurately reporting on him, Mike Waltz was frantically checking his _19_ other secret, national security-threatening Signal chats to make sure he hadn't accidentally invited any journalists to those?

The last day on which a majority of the Supreme Court’s justices had been appointed by Democratic presidents was May 14, 1969. One of the things we do in the legal academy is support our claims with facts.

NEW: Another Skadden attorney has resigned in protest, citing the law firm’s decision to strike a deal with Trump. “Skadden is on the wrong side of history. I could no longer stay knowing that someday I would have to explain why I stayed,” the lawyer, Thomas Sipp, wrote in his resignation letter.

I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:
