I was playing Donkey Kong on my NES Classic at my girlfriend’s just now and I hit 61100. And that’s with the classic NES controller. I use an 8bitdo Arcade stick on my Switch and I never get that high. I suppose it’s because I just relaxing and not really trying. #Gaming #DonkeyKong #NESClassic

Gradius's graphics used to bug the crap out of me in the 80s. You start the game in hyperspace and then you move into a cave. BUT, you're still in hyperspace! Wait... What! How's that possible? Useless gaming info: The color version of 1978's Space Invaders uses color tile maps but with only one color per tile. So if a tile map had to display a projectile and an alien at the same time, they had to be the same color. This was the same limitation that was present on the VIC-20 & ZX Spectrum.

Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy does have some impressive artwork. It does look like some early PSX 2D games - Rayman & Gex immediately come to mind. And it's fairly obvious that this game was rushed out the door. #Gaming #RetroGaming #Shmup

My Atari 800 had the upgraded GTIA chip with modes GR.9–11 — way more color options than the C64. But Atari’s obsession with backward compatibility with the older CTIA chip meant almost no games used them. Meanwhile, the 5200 used them constantly. It drove me nuts. 😑

I'm starting to really miss my PS5. Everything seemed easier on it. And it's gotta be that controller. The Xbox controller was designed for FPS's, while the PS ripped off the SNES layout. Like the 1st boss in CSOTN: I can get by him without really trying on a PS. But on my Xbox... I die everytime.

My nephew played Doom: The Dark Ages on my mini PC last night via Xbox Cloud. He said that it worked just fine for him. The graphics were slow to load at first, but then the game caught up. So I decided to give it a shot myself today, and so far, so good. I haven't noticed any real lag at all.

Well, what da ya know. I was going to watch Tekken’s Combo Breaker Day 2 game today. I tried to pull it up on Twitch but it wasn’t there. Only YouTube has it. There were a lot of reposts (which I always avoid), but nothing from Namco themselves. I guess they’re YouTube exclusives now.
