I've encountered a few people arguing that tariffs are good, actually, because they will force us to consume less and while I think our consumer culture is problematic in many ways, I don't think things such as 'food' and 'medical supplies' fall under the category of unnecessary purchases.

I know of several boys in my kids' circles who are obsessed with gym because they think you have to absolutely shredded to stand any chance of getting a girlfriend. Very much blame the Andrew Tate tendency and hope they see this. Also, as piece says there's nothing wrong with gym either... per se
