Some math on RI's Washington Bridge. Say 100,000 cars per day for 20 years. Bridge replacement costs an optimistic $500M. That is $1.44 per trip! Why the hell isn't there be a toll? Better yet, charge $2 during peak times now, and watch the delays disappear. 6 lanes is enough.

The difference is this. Republicans' greatest fear is the tweet that kicks them out of the gang. With few exceptions, Dems greatest fear is their megadonors closing their wallets. Even "low-information" folks know this and you can hardly blame them for judging Dems the worse hypocrites.
