Some might say I'm being too harsh on Figma but I actually think I'm not being harsh *enough.* For better or worse, Figma is the industry-default design tool. When they select their priorities, it communicates to designers *what they should consider important* both as a role model and as a tool.

That’s a wrap on #IAC25! 💙 We’re so grateful for everyone who joined us this year — in person and in spirit. 💬 What was your favorite moment? Share your highlight and let’s keep the IAC community conversations going. #IAC25 #UX #IA #ContentDesign #DesignCommunity

🕺 The May 2025 playlist, a new and old music sampler, is out on 8 platforms: Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, LastFM, and Qobuz. And I drew the cover art. Happy listening 🎧 shiveryourtimbers.ca/blog/schmutz... #NewMusic #Music #NowPlaying

At #iac25 @austingovella.bsky.social is dropping some valuable wisdom on being strategic about structure even when your work context doesn’t necessarily expect or ask for it. (Bonus: here’s a choice @cityofsound.bsky.social nugget)

Ooh. I’m going out dancing tonight. How fancy!

I'm 24 slides and about half way into a 20-minute talk. This is after I chopped down a 45-minute presentation.

It’s April 25th. It’s the perfect date. youtu.be/-BNwiqDGz5g

Had my last exam for the semester this evening and I think I did pretty well. Generally enjoying this going back to school thing.

Received really nice feedback from a client today. They said my facilitation was the best they’d experienced. As a workshop junkie, that’s always nice to hear.

Last year, Web.com bought dotser. This year Network Solutions bought web.com. And just like that, I’m back with the company I left in the 90s.

I have a deep aversion to local TV news, but now I am ON it because last year, the power company Arizona Public Service cut off electricity to my mother’s house outside of Phoenix, killing her.

What if capes and hats came back in fashion? Imagine how cool that'd be

Gearing up to finally run another personas and journeys workshop. Man, I love workshops.

To counter the dour feeling, we went and saw the elephant migration sculptures today and spent some time wandering around Hermann Park

Woke up to what seems like a more dour news day than most. Probably my mood. Man, does society we need shit like Care Bears and My Little Pony.

Spent the last day doing wireframes which is exciting because I don’t do them as much anymore. I always enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to move users in a direction, especially because you have to wait for the right moment and the right place to interject. Such a fun puzzle every time.

Global navigation is marketing space

@miniver.bsky.social appreciated your post about The Thing and Yancy St. I have similar childhood memories of Daredevil and Tom Sawyer and numerous others that I carry with me as personal compasses.

Tooth fairy neglected to come by last night. 7yo was very disappointed. I’ll have to give that tooth fairy a stern talking to. Maybe DOGE laid the tooth fairy off and needs to rehire them.

I’m averaging one UX audit a week. Not bad or good. Just interesting.

Oh… that 50-minute talk I was working on can only. Be 20-minutes. How will I cut it down? Guess I’ll post the rest of the content as a blog post or something.

I just copied and pasted some text out of a screenshot to paste into Figma to help draft a high fidelity wireframe. LIKE I’M SOME KIND OF WIZARD. Kids these days have no appreciation for how much MAGIC they touch in their everyday lives.

So trying both White Lotus and The Pitt, but I can’t quite get into either one. I must be immune to good tv.
