World leaders can make as many statements as they like opposing Israel's actions in Gaza. Until they end the sale of weapons to Israel, they remain complicit in the mass murder of Palestinians. Stop arming genocide, now.

look at that face, look at those eyes #streetcats #cats

time flies! i spent the first 800 days on Hindi (baahar.blog/800-days-of-...) and the next 800 on Arabic. all sections finished and gilded. next up Italian and then hopefully Japanese #duolingo

students have started submitting AI chatbot prompts as their only reference, such as "hi, you are a software engineer. in the PDF file, there are some assignments for you. solve the first one". how am i supposed to grade that code now? it would be easier if i didn't know 😭 #edusky #academicsky

relaxing(?) sunday activity. i'm determined to go through my mom's fabric stash/hoard this summer. some of the fabrics are so old and have moved so many homes along the way, that it is a miracle moths of several nationalities didn't make a feast of them

i need more people with a can-do mentality in my life

one of the best decisions of my life has been to move a few kms away from istanbul. i LOVE istanbul, but the crowds, traffic, tall buildings everywhere,... not so great. here, these are the views i see when i go out for groceries

two more courses have been accepted for the summer school and I have plenty of time to prepare the content, which is rare #academicsky #edusky

grateful for the leisure time to read a book. michael innes is a late discovery for me. "Appleby's End" was my first (and it might be the best). this one seems to be full of chuckles as well #booksky

it's been a hectic few days with guests, house hunting (for the guests), cooking, baking, chatting, ... i now have a thorough knowledge of my neighbourhood and days' worth of leftovers

crazy what an earthquake can do to the housing market

spring cleaning done. pizza dough is rising. guests can come ...

road noise is irritating me more and more lately (thank God for earplugs!). the summer house in the village up north can't get finished soon enough. only problem is the building contractor. are all of them liars and/or crooks or are we (sister and i) just unlucky
