Ominous skies but a shaft of sunlight in Bene't Street, Cambridge. The pub on the left is the famous Eagle where www2 airmen used candles to write their squadron details on the ceiling with soot (still preserved). It also has links to the discovery of DNA. #pastel #cambridge

Very old pastel life drawing from almost 50 years ago, still in an archive folder.

Large charcoal life drawing from when I was a pre-Dip (i.e. Foundation) student at Portsmouth Art College in 1965. This was the first time I did life drawing though I had previously done a lot of portrait work. Still have drawings and paintings from this unforgettable period 60 years ago.

I hate AI. Google wants to present search results as predigested pap. I hope duckduckgo stays the excellent tool that it is. I also search with Wikipedia (god preserve it!)

Everything Trump touches dies. The US has set itself up for this huge reputational and financial loss by not having removed him from public life as they should have done years ago.

Comma butterflies are currently visiting our garden and what a delight they are, especially if posing on a Sweet William flower photos.app.goo.gl/bJjLfqKnJwJV...

Another Oxford sketch from 24 years ago. I think this is Radcliffe Square with Brasenose College on the right and part of St Mary's Church behind the trees. I've only visited Oxford a few times so correct me if I'm wrong. I might still have this one in a portfolio. #watercolour #indianink #art

Not a very nice day in Oxford, quite a large pastel from 24 years ago (sold) #art #pastel #oxford

Garden oil painting on canvas from three summers ago. Might make a few minor adjustments to it but it is quite fresh without ruinous tinkering. Need three paintings for an autumn exhibition (not much else in the calendar)

Roses, stocks and quinces, fairly large mixed media on heavy paper (gouache, oil pastel and acrylic ink) #art #mixedmedia

If there's a lightning storm over Diaper Donny's big parade could he be persuaded to cheer up the crowds of paid onlookers by waving an iron golf club over his head from on top of a tank?

The #dollar's crown is slipping, and fast‼️👇🏼 The dollar has sunk to its lowest in three years as rapidly changing #U.S. trade policy unsettles markets and expectations build for #FederalReserve rate cuts, fuelling outflows from the world's biggest economy. www.reuters.com/world/europe...

An on-the-spot watercolour commission from the '80s showing All Saints' Church in Little Shelford (the image is scanned from a slide).

Pastel life drawing. I gave this one to the model. #art #lifedrawing #pastel

One of my older flower pieces. Bought by someone years ago. I hope it has been looked after, not hung in bright light, reframed if necessary etc. #art #watercolour #gardenflowers #painting
