Happy 34th anniversary to Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, based on the English folk tale of Robin Hood. Cary Elwes was offered the role of Robin Hood, but turned it down because he thought the plot was too contrived. He did, however, play him in Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Ari Lehman, the first actor to ever play Jason Voorhees, had previously worked with Sean Cunningham on the 1978 sports comedy Manny’s Orphans. Interestingly, some other Friday crew members worked on it, including Victor Miller, Steve Miner, and Harry Manfredini. #FridayThe13th

Contrary to popular belief, the famous "Chi, chi, chi, ha, ha, ha" in the film's score is actually "Ki, ki, ki, ma, ma, ma." It is meant to resemble Jason's voice saying "Kill, kill, kill, mom, mom, mom" in Mrs. Voorhees's mind. #FridayThe13th

Despite thinking the script was awful, Betsy Palmer accepted the role of Pamela Voorhees because she was in need of a new car. She later grew to accept and celebrate her participation in the franchise before her death in 2015. #FridayThe13th

When Brenda’s body is thrown through the window, that’s actually the film’s special effects artist, Tom Savini, doubling for Laurie Bartram, the actress who played Brenda. #FridayThe13th

lot of critics hated the violence in Friday the 13th. One who strongly disliked the movie was Gene Siskel, who spoiled the twist ending and published the addresses of Betsy Palmer and Charles Bluhdorn, the chairman of the board of Gulf+Western, in his review. #FridayThe13th

Victor Miller admitted Friday the 13th was made to ride the success of John Carpenter's Halloween. Sean Cunningham even approached Halloween producer Irwin Yablans to produce the film, but he declined, as he wasn't interested in doing another horror movie. #FridayThe13th

Rex Everhart, who portrays Enos the truck driver, did not film his scenes with Robbi Morgan, so she had to either act with an imaginary Enos, or exchange dialogue with makeup effect artist Taso N. Stavrakis, who would sit in the truck with her. #FridayThe13th

The busboy in the restaurant is played by an uncredited Irwin Keyes, who was best known for playing Hugo on The Jeffersons. Horror fans will remember him as Ravelli, Captain Spaulding's sidekick in House of 1000 Corpses. #FridayThe13th

The original screenplay was titled A Long Night at Camp Blood, but was later changed to Friday the 13th while Sean Cunningham and Victor Miller were working on a redraft. Sean later took out an advertisement in Variety magazine even before the script was finished. #FridayThe13th

Although he spent most of his time as a production assistant, Willie Addams played Barry in the opening scene, and holds the distinction of being the first person to die in the Friday the 13th franchise. #FridayThe13th

To capitalize on the success of The Fly, American International decided to change the name from Earth vs. The Spider to The Spider, a much more generic title, on all advertising material. Also, who’s the genius that decided to give the Spider a human skull? #TheLastDriveIn

For the giant prop legs of the Spider, Bert I. Gordon used straw from brooms. #TheLastDriveIn

Troy Patterson was actually 35 years old when he portrayed a teenager in this film. #TheLastDriveIn
