#NoKings in Marion, NY way outside of #RochesterNY … guessing about 200 people along Main Street in this unincorporated hamlet of 1500.

Worth noting regarding road damage concerns... it's hard to tell exactly (shot from multiple angles... commercial breaks) but in this 1991 parade it looks like there's around 4–8 tracked vehicles total. There will be many more than that today.

Did you know there's a whole set of Ziploc (TM) brand fingerman Pogs (TM) out there? What a world! www.milkcapmania.co.uk/820-ZipLoc-F...

4 hours of CNN from the 90s, 1 Wolf Blitzer, 1 Tom Hanks, 1 Mitch Fucking McConnell, 6 or 7 otters, 2 giant shoulder pads, 1 Dr. Fauci, 1 Regis. Follow along for some "historical context" before ignoring tomorrow’s vanity parade. cc: the only historian I know on here @kevinmkruse.bsky.social

I've just uploaded a VHS of CNN covering the June 8, 1991 "National Victory Celebration" parade (and surrounding programming). I'll try to thread some highlights this afternoon but be sure to check out this brown-haired military affairs correspondent "Wolf Blitzer"? 🏛️ archive.org/details/nati...

anyways i heard (and barely saw) a weirdo new bird the other day... a green heron and its strange song (first sound clip here: www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Green_...). it's pretty creepy sounding!

wondering how much of the alleged "bluesky slowdown" is just folks not wanting to post "insignificant" things whilst their world turns to a dangerous garbage pile.

old enough to remember raw milk being "elitist liberal" coded. imagine michelle obama pushing folks to drink $16 a gallon milk for their health. OUT OF TOUCH.

maybe tell FEMA?

I too got married at Rochester city hall (not by the mayor though!) and would heartily recommend. It is a lovely space. Congrats Sam and Tim!

what if we band together and hire 1 person to pet the cows for us? and what if — get this — what if they were actually qualified to judge the safety of food systems?!

telling everybody on tiktok that this is the “jesus glow” folks are talking about.

"Maybe children will have two breakfasts per month instead of thirty, and maybe they'll be a little more expensive."

i don't even trust AI to write accurate documentation for beep-boopin' at computers. what the hell is wrong with these people? arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...
