ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds. He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings. He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights. This is political intimidation.

Just four hours ago, even after we’ve learned the shooter was as an anti-abortionist Trump supporter, a sitting U.S. Senator is spreading fake conspiracy theories blaming the murder of a Democratic lawmaker on Democrats. Not only that, he’s pinned the post! Abominably evil stuff from Mike Lee.

BREAKING: Gaza’s civil defence agency says Israeli troops shot and killed at least 20 hungry Palestinians and wounded hundreds of others while they waited for food at a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid site. 🔴 LIVE updates: aje.io/oq5i6c

Please consider chipping in, if you can, to support the family of Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, the peaceful protester tragically killed at the No Kings march in Salt Lake City. May his memory be a blessing. www.gofundme.com/f/help-laura...

We join with @slindivisible.bsky.social in mourning the death of Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, a peaceful protester who was shot last night at the march in Salt Lake City. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.

Thinking about Paul Weiss this evening.

the story today is of a profoundly low energy military parade being met with millions of americans in nationwide protests denouncing the dictatorial pretensions of the president

Hello from Berlin where a few hundred Americans are outside the embassy, currently reading aloud from the Declaration of Independence. #nokings

The global day of protest has begun

The first civilian detained by U.S. Marines in Los Angeles was an ARMY VETERAN on his way to a VA APPOINTMENT

"Interest has dramatically picked up in recent days. Sign-ups surpassed 5,000 — the capacity for the plaza where the rally is scheduled — and organizers are working with law enforcement to potentially close roads to ensure the safety of a larger crowd..." www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

Stephen Miller has detained another Dreamer. Caroline Dias Goncalves, a 19-year-old University of Utah student, has lived in the US since she was 7. “‘We’re going to take you,’ Dias Goncalves said [immigration officers] told her … They didn’t cite a reason.” www.sltrib.com/news/educati...

The neighborhood is getting ready for tomorrow

<thread> On the left: June 12, Judge Breyer writing that THE test for whether the US Marines/Guard violate Posse Comitatus will be whether they've engaged in "detaining" civilians. On the right: June 13: See for yourself. Note: The DoD has confirmed the detention of civilian to Reuters.

"The agents told her to exit her home with her children. Standing in the driveway, they showed her a warrant for her husband, listing his name as David Garcia. ...She explained that her husband’s name is Jorge and that he was not at the house." www.yahoo.com/news/dhs-sec...

This is far worse than the contempt of court language in the House bill. It SHOULD come out in the Byrd bath, but Republicans could choose to ignore the parliamentarian. Very scary attack on checks and balances by the Senate GOP.

The JCPOA was very good, actually.

We had an Iran deal. It was unfathomably difficult to arrive at, but US diplomats and allies got it done. Trump killed it. He campaigned on killing it, and he did, with no plan for what came next.

Judge said ❌👑

Food inspectors being fired to “cut government waste” while you’ve got governors activating the national guard for shits and giggles.

"Liberate the city from locally elected leaders of Los Angeles and the state of California." It's so fucking insane.

Anyone hesitant to use the word 'fascist' to describe this administration should read these words. And then read them again. "We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership..."

This Saturday, June 14th, join one of the 1,800+ No Kings protests across the country. While Trump celebrates his birthday with a military parade in D.C. like a wannabe king, we'll be joining together to uphold our democracy and protect our rights! @indivisible.org #NoKingsDay

But how can that be, I am repeatedly told by supposed straight news reporting that this is Trump's strong issue where Dems are oppose him at their peril.

We feed you. They hunt us.

"There have been more than 30 incidents of police violence against journalists as of Tuesday, including 20 injuries, at least five of which required emergency room or urgent care visits..."

He was also a committed slaveowner who brutalized the human beings he owned. He didn’t fight for honor.

Today we said NO KINGS👑 loudly and clearly from Ocean Beach (San Diego, CA). #NoKings

“Send another 2,000,” says guy who absolutely cares about the troops.

From a week and a half ago: “As of Monday, the model shows, about 96,000 adults and 200,000 children have died because of the administration’s cutbacks to funding for aid groups and support organizations. The overall death count grows by 103 people an hour.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

How on earth can this country still hold the World Cup and Olympics next year??

Conspiracy to engage in speech critical of the regime bsky.app/profile/empt...

Politics hasn't been this simple in a long time: do you think it's good for one man to exercise unchecked, arbitrary power or not. Those are the two available ideologies right now

It is completely unlawful for ICE to turn away members of Congress like this. The law could not be more clear; no member of Congress may be denied access to a facility where ICE is detaining someone, and they cannot be required to schedule in advance. Surprise inspections must be surprise.

Lots of well-meaning 'this is the most important thing happening right now' / 'this is a distraction' discourse on here rn and the truth is we've got to pay attention to multiple things. It's vital we don't let Republicans believe they can ram through the reconciliation bill under the radar.

LAPD yesterday: Protests in the city have been peaceful… LAPD today: …and we’re here to fix that

On the left, residents cleaning up their streets. On the right, federalized Guard arriving to quell "violent mobs." You can see some holding their assault rifles. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard against protests the *LAPD* commended for their nonviolence is a clear attempt to escalate, sow chaos, and chill dissent. First with the ICE raids, then with this militarized response, we're seeing the tyranny of the Trump regime on full display.

Just to be clear, this is the most fascist shit I’ve seen from a US official in my lifetime.

Today: Tanks are being moved en masse into DC. Trump is deploying a state national guard over a governor’s objection to police protests. Trump threatened a major donor with “severe consequences” if they support his political opponents. If you’re still wondering what time it is, read this again

There were a few hundred people protesting the ICE actions in California today. Most probably lived in the neighborhood that had been raided by armed, uniformed men who looked like soldiers and not police. The idea that the response to this 2,000 National Guard is fucking insane.

The arrest of union leader David Huerta is galvanizing a new element—solidarity: “Right now, just in the last 14 hours, labor unions are joining together from far and wide, communities are reaching out in ways I’ve never seen,” Orr told me. “Something is different.” www.latimes.com/california/s...

These are crimes. They're committing crimes. And when people understandably protest the fact that they're committing crimes, they're shooting flashbangs at them.
