Does areal transport of pesticides result in relevant exposure? Surprisingly: yes! We found notable concentrations in streams without upstream agriculture. Mean exposure was explained by distance-weighted land use in the surrounding (radius of 50 km). doi.org/10.1016/j.wa...

A detailed extinction risk assessment of freshwater fauna, covering more than 23,000 species, reported in Nature reveals that around 24% of the studied species are threatened with extinction. The analysis identifies major threats from pollution, dams, agriculture and invasive species. 🧪
