Ok, this is an undercooked take, so bear with me here. Is it possible that the things people were upset about under Biden were not typical economic markers like wages or savings, but the continued enshittification of our lives? Because I think that [definitely] continued under Biden.

I don't think we talk enough about how the Tavares contract did not age well. He just finished the final season of a 7-year contract, and he was still the 8th highest paid player in the NHL. It certainly wasn't a disaster, but he was 34th in pts/gp and 19th in ESG over that time period.
