I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. Share this if you're with me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8wM...

They really are the whiniest bunch. And it’s actually diagnostically relevant, if we want to understand their political project: A movement of people who feel victimized by a society they believe owes them constant adulation and deference, whose self-pity inevitably turns to authoritarian cruelty.

The GOP’s “big, beautiful bill” would be the biggest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in U.S. history. On average, someone in the top 0.1% would gain around $390,000 next year. But someone in the bottom 20% would lose $820, and nearly twice as much—$1,545—in 2033.

Trans people: we would like to participate in society. Anti-trans activists: trans people should not exist. Politico: both sides are extreme!

Sending you slow blinks and healing purrs in case you’re having a rough week. You matter. 💚

Objectively the most-pro death administration we’ve seen.

Treating a new Covid strain like a crime and not a public health issue is deranged.

Update: reports today that multiple legal observers were arrested today in New York at two separate immigration courts, for allegedly “obstructing” ICE. Not only that, apparently some immigration courts are barring the public from attending hearings. This mess is escalating fast.

Bluesky is really dunking on popularism right now (cool). But let me offer a corollary challenge to primary election voters: endorse and support candidates who inspire you, not who you think will inspire a theorized median voter

palestinians have to worry about losing their families due to the genocide while israelis have make fake ice cream labels with ai that scare them

"In 2017, Lockwood and two colleagues published a groundbreaking study showing many of those former classmates now cost society money...A corporate lawyer, for instance, does $30,000 of damage to society each year, a commercial banker more than $100,000."

For those of you who knew Victoria Brownworth on Twitter, she passed away from cancer yesterday. She was a fearless journalist who reported on AIDS in the 80s (when Reagan was ignoring it), lifted up the LGBTQ community, & rooted out corruption. Her wife, Maddy Gold, died of cancer in 2022.

I think we deserve a day. The US regime is trying to dismantle trans care infrastructure at the national level. It's going to impact private care. And whatever stockpiles or alternatives we have access to, you can't DIY FFS or SRS. This is a crap day, and its impact should not be understated.

There are just a handful of them. There are millions of us. When we finally get tired of their shit, the game is over. If you don't believe me, just pick up a history book and find out what happens to the ultra wealthy and powerful, sooner or later. Over and over and over again..

they are trying to outlaw being transgender in this country and this is just the first step. they were never going to stop at sports. they weren’t going to stop at bathrooms. they want a trans genocide. it is so important to spread awareness of this

Imagine how we would view this if it was happening in another country

DC gays and anyone coming here for world pride: just a heads up because this guy has removed his politics from his Hinge profile, but he was literally at the insurrection on January 6th. do not engage.

I really don't care, do you?

🚨Reports around the country today that some people who showed up for their immigration court hearings were told that ICE prosecutors had dismissed their cases — and then were arrested moments later by ICE officers and taken to detention centers for unknown reasons. Happening in multiple cities.

"In an environment where attention is our most valuable and scarce resource, talking about Biden’s mental state comes at the expense of talking about other things— namely Trump’s corruption, which, unlike Biden’s health, actually impacts us."

Dear Europe, Bomb the shit out of Russia, kill Putin and put Zelenskyy in charge of it all.

I will never get tired of reading these stories of ICE agents etc getting turned away/thwarted because people KNOW THEIR RIGHTS.

Straight up mobster shit.

Let me be clear: I stand with Representative LaMonica McIver (@replamonica.bsky.social). Newark stands by its own.

TIL that after the shooting death of CEO Brian Thompson UnitedHealthcare approved many life-saving medical procedures it has been holding out on because of sudden internal panic and public scrutiny. So, Luigi (innocent until proven guilty) probably saved more lives than he took.

Dear America, Have you had enough yet? I have.

covid threw into high relief how many working class people are absolutely necessary to keeping society functional, and rather than that sparking a renewed commitment to an economy that rewards such workers, we've seen an elite backlash against even modest increases in their market power

Actually, Uni had surgery on his teeth and gums today. He ended up having two teeth removed, but he’s doing really well. He’s a bit tired now, but he ate a big meal earlier. Time to rest, Uni. you did great today!

I've been warning orgs that work on stigmatized areas of healthcare to move their tech stack to European companies. This is going to create an exodus of international orgs and governments moving away from American tech companies.
