Hence why people see live cheese rolling, they will lap it up as it's something different to the humdrum everyday schedules. That is not looking at television of the past with rose tinted glasses that everything was brilliant, as there was a fair deal of duff programmes as well 2/2

The reason why we cannot have escapism on Bank Holiday television is down to (John) Birtism and Botneyism, because they did not believe in entertainment or along the way they forgot that is what television is about as a medium. An escape from what is going on outside. 1/2
