Pride Day 20

Painting of the day - Our English Coasts, 1852 ('Strayed Sheep') by William Holman Hunt.

Favourite two times in junior school: 1 - When the teacher said 'Take out your books and read quietly' 2 - When we all rested our heads on our arms on the desk with our eyes closed and our teacher read to us #BookishTimes

Well youngest and I had quite a few hours wander around the maze that is IKEA. We got most of what we went for and only two things we didn't (a lint roller 75p and some biscuits) so we treated ourselves to their meat balls for being good ☺️

@clockworkdolly.bsky.social Apparently J D Vance was only supended briefly because it flagged as possible imposter. Once he was verified he was back on.

Its going to be a gloriously hot, sunny day. Be sure to drink plenty, wear sunscreen and don't stay in direct sunshine too long. Oh and only walk your dogs early morning or evening, the pavement is too hot for their paws. Enjoy your days xx

Oh hi there, this Atlantic Yellow-Nosed Albatross chick wants you to have a wonderful day. #WorldAlbatrossDay

Today is the start of #IndieBookshopWeek, so why not call by your nearest indie bookshop, admire their bunting and help them unburden their bookshelves?

When I was young I walked everywhere. Then I grew up and passed my test and started to drive most places. Now, if I can. I leave the car and walk again. It's such a happier journey ☺️

'Take care of your common sense, and your dignity will take care of itsself.' Carolyn Wells, American mystery author and poet, born on this day in 1862.

Pride Day 18

Inside the bat cave. I love night mode on my phone. I can see things I can't see in there 😃

This monkey looked like his Mum had told him off and he was sulking!

Had a lovely day at Chester Zoo today. Have walked that far in a good while! Smashed the 10,000 steps 😁

When you were both so excited about the zoo and, now you're halfway round and you're shattered and need a rest 😴

Good morning. Wishing you all a wonderful new day. Be kind out there and support each other xx

Pride Day 17

Nine years ago today, Jo Cox was murdered while doing her job. Tragically, the hate and division in our society have only deepened since that dark day. Jo's death was a profound blow to our democracy.
