Interests include politics, sports, and painting Warhammer 40k models. Oh, and it'd be great if we could do something about income inequality and the impending fascism. Yeah...

Couldn't agree more with this. It's jaw-dropping to see the patty cake people are playing with him after what was a full constitutional assault that, oh by the way, is almost certainly going to lead to tens of thousands of people in the global south dying needlessly.

Not great

Shot. Chaser. (So many examples like this from the GOP!)

Unreal. "Under the plea agreement which dismissed the felony charge of grand theft, former Glenn County sheriff's deputy John Sanzone agreed to return the $3,500 he stole from a homeless man who had been saving it for badly needed dental work."

This is insane

Highlight from last night's focus groups with older, base but not fully activated, white women and Latinas: Moderator: What about a metaphor? What Trump is doing is like... Woman 1: Mafia Woman 2: No, they have a code of honor.

i just do not understand why dems arent suing fox news for this exact same freaking thing (plus dominion honestly, if we’re talking “fraud”) even just as a public display of how hypocritical and insane all this is

This is a brilliant idea, Riley Gaines! A 66-year old man with an arthritic left knee and chronic stress fractures in the right foot, who hasn't swum since 1971... Somebody you could finally beat!

RFK Jr. is reportedly going to forbid government scientists from publishing in the world’s most respected medical journals — the Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, etc. It’s going to take decades to repair the damage done by this administration.

Surprise!

BREAKING: Donald Trump just corruptly commuted the sentence of Imaad Zuberi, a figure in the 2019 NYT bestseller Proof of Conspiracy. Below is an excerpt from one of the citations in that book... ...and it underscores that the Zuberi commutation should send up every red flag imaginable.

I don’t believe “Sharing the Same Goals as the President of the United States” was ever a requirement for University research before

To be clear: CBS offered to pay 15 million to Trump for editing an interview with his opponent in a way that he didn’t like. The world has gone mad. (Also, shouldn’t Harris now sue Fox for their editing of Trump interviews that she didn’t like??)

What's so alluring about doing Trumpworld Kremlinology is that both "this is all kayfabe and Elon is pretending to step away for PR reasons" and "Stephen Miller executed a power play against Musk as revenge for fucking his wife" are both totally plausible and we have no way to know which is true

What I've learned since Trump took office again is that doing business with the United States government isn't worth the hassle because they can simply cancel your contract and any money you've already spent on the project goes up in flames.

Portlanders: the Police Bureau is trying to amend the rules so they don't have to report information on officers who have been disciplined for excessive force / other violations during investigations those officers are involved in. You can submit comment here. www.surveymonkey.com/r/3WPQRK3

The first thing you need to know about Elon Musk is that he’s a liar. And like Donald Trump, he doesn’t lie to be believed. He lies to be repeated. He lies because it works. And he lies because when he’s caught, he generally suffers no discernible consequences.

Seems like a big deal. It would be nice if we had well-respected media that could contextualize this for the American electorate (before the RW media throws a bunch of shit against the wall to see what disinformation sticks)

We're all pretty used to the idea that our phones are listening to us, that algos know our preferences, and that ad companies have a very good idea of who we are and what we like Right now, they mostly use this to sell us stuff. We are on the cusp of them using it to do something very different

JFC, conservative media is cooking men's brains. Fellas, my dudes, you've got to stop listening to the online misogynists and just get some real-life hobbies and talk to women. Smile. Be funny. Be dependable. Be safe to be around, ffs. Either way, related content:

China's auto industry is gearing up to utterly crush its American competitors & Republicans are racing to declare surrender.

Seems bad. Not great, even.

Just in: Texas' former solicitor general has left the AG's office amid sex misconduct allegations and a lawsuit outlining his apparent, months of detailed disclosures to colleagues about his sexual obsession with watching an asteroid anally rape the agency's No. 2 attorney in front of his kids.

It's all fossil fuel money, bots, and bullshit. All the way down.

This is the best team crossover video I've ever seen.

The Trump regime has gutted the govt; assaulted the constitution; apprehended immigrants off streets w/o due process sending them to foreign gulags; blown up alliances as economy hurtles towards uncertainty. Yet here is POLITICO fawning over his media appearances while throwing shade at Biden.

People still just don't get it. "Richard said his wife’s apprehension makes no sense because she was not a flight risk wearing an ankle monitor, has ties to the community and has continued her appeal for asylum status."

I showed up to the Statehouse in Ohio to testify against one terrible bill which mimics Jim Crow tactics. Only to be greeted with another bill that takes us back to the darkest moments of anti-Asian discrimination in American history: open.substack.com/pub/davidpep...
