Mine taught me how to cook and how to do laundry. I am the best in the house at both. It is a blessing and a curse.

Where’s the Adama quote? Right here: There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state. The other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people

If they had done this on, say, the 4th of July, then sure. Makes sense. But today? On the wannabe dictator’s birthday? We will remember.

There were more people out in the Kansas suburbs

No Kings Protest in Overland Park, KS. 500+. No violence. An abundance of support. A few drove by and showed their views against us, including the 2 little kids and their grown up. Great role model, Dude. Do we still call it the Hawaiian Good Luck wave? I yelled that we were here for them too.

Overland Park, Kansas #nokings

Protesting in Overland Park, Kansas!

500+ people out to protest in Overland Park, KS today at 119th and Metcalf. People lined the streets in all directions around the intersection.

Hold up, do I have an Atlas joke for you

We just launched the KS for the book. A reminder that the open call submission information for "Mmeory", our upcoming genre spanning memory manipulation anthology is now live. Submissions open July 7th and close August 15th - aanpress.com/submissions....

Meanwhile, I can tell my car that I'm cold, and it will turn up the heat. I can tell it to route me home, and it will choose the best route (and adjust it based on traffic). You gotta use the right tool for the job, and a text prediction engine is the wrong tool.

There are 53 senators and 220 representatives who wake up each morning, read the news, and think, "This is fine." It's mind-boggling.

This clip has me thinking of Michelle Muenzler’s brilliant 2022 story “The Life and Death of Atomic Tangerine.” bsky.app/profile/jere... psychopomp.com/fantasy/july...

This was prescient.

Don't let Daniel Levy see this

When dad makes you stay in the basement during the tornado warning. (The tornado did not touch down near us)

Also I am just delighted by how GOOD the Murderbot adaptation has been? The writing is funny and sweet and pacey and all of the things the original Murderbot is.

Really enjoyed this piece from @danielstorey85.bsky.social All 92 grounds (plus) Wembley in one season is incredible. I had a colleague in London, a bloke in his 60s, who was rightfully proud to have done that in his lifetime. inews.co.uk/sport/footba...

Thought this was super interesting in the ArsTechnica article about Murderbot. No guarantee of a second season, but interesting to see that they may combine novellas if there is. arstechnica.com/culture/2025...

A story about why Democrats are losers, in four parts.

Excellent timing on behalf of the Premier League to send Liverpool, who have been on the beach for two weeks, to Brighton.

Adding to the chorus: Murderbot was really good. The show did a great job of capturing the awkwardness and humor of the novellas and—especially—the human condition.

Of all the mfers that should stfu about 47, Mr Reopening the Investigation is the biggest mfer that should stfu about 47

What if they competed for their communities to get larger government aid packages? Maybe people could pay to give the contestants donations? I’m sure it would work out great for the producers.

Today's Spurs match was the equivalent of waking up on a Sunday morning to find a puddle of cat vomit on the living room rug, but you knew the cat was sick when you went to bed, so it wasn't really a surprise

you know who else came from chicago and was on "a mission from god"

Catmoflage

This is who America is right now. It's sad. What's more sad is how many weird losers are *proud* of it.
