I was having an emotion, and I hate that.

That's for damn sure.

A new body of work by Andrew Salgado unfurls from a central premise: we are the books we read. www.thisiscolossal.com/2025/06/andr...

Things like this make me feel su^rgen, though I'm also assoured, révoltive, and nausaged.

"Brown Stewe" is just rude.

For this week's @spoonflower Palm Springs challenge, I wanted to do something reminiscent of the prints that were worn in its 60s heyday, using iconic images of the time. So we've got palm trees and cacti and breeze blocks, of course, plus big plastic beads and big teased hair. #patterndesign

I just learned about Muhammad Ali's "voodoo drawings" and I'm absolutely fascinated. news.artnet.com/art-world/ar...

May I offer you a cozy culinary pattern in these trying times? Both the French and Italian are available from Spoonflower in all four colors, if you like that sort of thing. #patterndesign #surfacepatterndesign

And ye maye aske yowerself, 'How do Ich werke thys?' And ye maye aske yowerself, 'Wher ys that large destrier?' And ye maye tell yowerself, 'Thys nys nat my fayre castel!' And ye maye tell yowerself, 'Thys nys nat my swift goshawk!'

So many good ideas here.

Today is for mezes puszedli, Hungarian soft gingerbread cookies with an egg white and powdered sugar glaze. I used a recipe I found online from a site called Kabi's Kitchen, just adding a pinch of salt and doubling the spices, and they turned out to be fantastic. 10/10 will make again.

Linzer cookies, both raspberry and lekvar, accomplished with hardly any swearing at all. I used the Joy of Cooking's recipe (aka the Viennese Crescents with a little lemon zest, rolled and cut out), which is very easy to work with, and extremely good.

Rudy contemplating the tree. Note one of my favorite ornaments at top right: Santa stuffing a naughty child into a sack.

More of my "Let's Go Fly a Kite" pattern collection, loosely inspired by vintage Japanese prints and postcards. #surfacepatterndesign

My hand slipped.

What a time to be alive.

I guess it's time to finally post something on here. Pattern design is one of the things I do, and this is a tiny bit of one of my latest collections. It's over on Spoonflower, if you like that sort of thing.
