Check out this excellent and thorough use case of #BoodleBox by instructional designer librarians at West Point! THIS is what I talk about when I say "Collabor-AI-tion"! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Wtp...

Again, like I said in my copyright webinar, this is "malicious" prompting, and finishing quotes is HARDLY proof of copyright violation. This is especially true if whole paragraphs or chapters were used in prompts. www.newscientist.com/article/2483...

I can't say I don't use AI, but I can say I only use it to generate insane Frasier scripts that I laugh at alone

It's like a horrifying combination of FOUNDATION, DUNE, FORWARD THE FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION'S EDGE, basically all the Foundation series, with the additional Bene Gesserit stuff from Dune. Also, I read about a man who did this in Germany in the 1930s. Things didn't end well. For anyone.

Incidentally, all three contestants on last night's Jeopardy were three people who have NEVER been in my kitchen.

@deeplyclassical.bsky.social Don't let your awesome Classical Music feed go away!

Jesus was a cross-maker

#musicsky #music #curation #playlists #renaissance #wagner Wagner isn't even a good composer for a CD like that.

In two and a half weeks, I will be conducting an "Ethics of AI" workshop! All attendees will get a free month of BoodleBox! www.library20.com/creating-an-... DATE: Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, 2:00 - 3:30 pm US - Eastern Time COST $129/person for individual attendees, special group rates possible.

The fact that people do not recognize that Eastern scriptures are SCRIPTURES and not fads is bizarre. Would you make a coding book based on the Book of Mormon? The Qur'an? The Bible? I doubt it. Because you know that is trivializing a religious text. It's just not done. #faithsky

I'd say that's a good plan!

And that combination is glorious.

F: "Well, Niles, that's the last time that Reynolds runs against you for Corkmaster!" N: "Dear God, I have his blood on my shoes! "No, wait, it's just his Cabernet."

I'm also a father of two and I'm 29, and I've watched Frasier 40 times, and I think I'm young!

The beauty of jazz music is that every type of jazz has its "classic" trios and ensembles and musicians, and so every single day I learn about a new artist whom I had no idea of, but I obviously should have known exactly who they were because their music is so excellent

Guys, please read the article! Don't have your favorite LLM summarize it! Take out the references and appendices and it's 145 pages. Take out figures, it's about 120 pages. That's a novella. I read it in <2 hours. If people can't read that much without running to AI for help, we have a major problem

I agree with this, with the caveat that "good historiography" CAN BE subjective. When I got my BA in History, there were two professors at my institution who HATED each other, all they wrote was snarky rebuttals about the others' "historiographic errors." There was an intervention at an AHA meeting.

The Augustinians teach a lot of things, they have amazing insight and perspectives.

The beginning of this is kinda meh but it gets good. Future Knowledge: Copyright, AI, and Great Power Competition Episode webpage: https://archive.org/details/future-knowledge-episode-2 Media file: https://media.transistor.fm/a4c74b62/dff3860f.mp3

This adds a dramatic new angle, just from that first page of examples, to the endless discussion about typeface knockoffs and copyright, and why so many US typefaces into the digital era and today do not bear their birth names #typography

The definition of my blog title, which is apropos as I have a new post coming next week that is ALL about a tool BUILT AROUND CollaborAItion… #BoodleBox!

Attended a Matthew Shipp (jazz pianist) concert at 8:30am at the Rothko Chapel. What a great way to start a work Friday. #summersolstice

💔 We need to talk, ChatGPT… NYT published a breakup letter to ChatGPT from a 16yo—one of the winning entries in its Student Open Letter Contest. It’s witty, sharp, and heartbreakingly honest about our love-hate relationship with AI. 🤖 buff.ly/0RTzQOT #aiineducation #edtech #writing #edusky

Join Empower: The Library Skills Collective – A New Way to Support Library Staff Through Professional Development I am thrilled to announce that I have joined the team of instructors at Empower: The Library Skills Collective, an organization dedicated to providing meaningful, accessible…

While we're sharing alternative tools: Khanmigo has accuracy issues, particularly with mathematics. MagicSchool has data gathering and privacy issues, and fosters automation. BoodleBox is a collaborative AI system that does not profess to be a tutor and ALSO acquires minimal user information.

Rarely do I see academics and information professionals completely abandon the central principles of #infolit, except when they are engaging in pro- or anti-AI hypefests.

A week into the launch and Empower is building momentum. Cannot wait to welcome more libraries and library staff through its doors! www.empowerlibraryskills.com/home
