"everything has to do with everything else"

i sort of agree with this. how about try this. if you feel like a book is becoming a slog, skip to the last chapter and read it. if the last chapter opens up some possibility you didn't envision, the book is worth restarting.

"we're offering them something better" every democrat should write this on a notecard and carry it with them everywhere they go. if what they are saying, or doing, is not offering anything to make someone's life better, scrap it.

truth

he's correct. this is also a secret businesses know, well, at least the ones who don't believe business is war .........

The tariffs will continue until morale improves.

hmmmmmmmmmmm ... prices up for those seeking to buy aluminum. so, once again, the buyer pays for tariffs.

with all due respect to the hype cycle, this is reality ....

it sure seems like most of confirmed Trump cabinet members lied a lot in confirmation meetings (and they aren't even one month in). @podsaveamerica.crooked.com

am i the only one who remembers that stable genius, master negotiator, cut Afghanistan out of negotiations and dealt directly with the Taliban? @mcuban.bsky.social @adamparkhomenko.bsky.social

memories ....

the question everyone should ask every time they read about something DOGE/Trump has "cut" is "does this make my life better?" 'cause i'm fairly sure even if you voted for Trump you didn't want to "make life worse again".

memories ...

apparently we are nearing chapter 8

Trump, stable genius, master negotiator.

The degree to which X has become a propaganda cesspool is frightening. In any Ukraine-related thread, the fraction of hardcore pro-Russia accounts is what, 90%? 95%? And the large majority aren't even actual people.

No notes

Trump wants Ukraine to "reimburse" the US to the tune of half a trillion $ (to note, the US didn't spend anywhere this much on Ukraine, most of the help came in the form of inventory slated for replacement, basically free). Other countries should take note. They'll soon become blackmail targets too

what he said ...

i have been wanting to introduce @graceblakeley.bsky.social and @aaronjbastani.bsky.social to @noahpinion.blogsky.venki.dev for quite some time hoping they would do a podcast. so here we go.

i just rewatched this Aaron Bastani tedtalk. his book, Fully Automated Luxury Communism: A Manifesto, is fabulous. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6aq...

when @robmay70.bsky.social and i reconnected here after years on twitter, i thought i should reshare a great (smart) tedtalk he did. ignore the shirt and focus on the message. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpdc...

I feel like my Burn Book was not burny enough for these toxic loons. Lucky the paperback comes out in March with some new scorching material. www.thedailybeast.com/trump-ally-p...
