Sources: As expected, the Pac-12 has formally extended an invitation to Texas State to join the league as the eighth FB member. School has informed the Sun Belt and is expected to formally accept and announce the move early next week. Austin Sports Journal appears to be first.

Welcome back Rose Lavelle. #USWNT

Justin Tucker has been suspended by the NFL until November 11.

Nico could do the funniest thing ever in the next five minutes…

For @sportsillustrated.bsky.social, I competed against Cooper Flagg in his other passion: Golf. Well, mini-golf. We also unpacked some key questions heading into Wednesday night's draft www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJkm...

Scott Frost didn’t expect to be a head coach again but he’s back at UCF for a second stint. He’s changed. The Knights have too. But there’s still plenty that’s the same which drew the two back together. “I had no interest in coming back to college.” www.si.com/college-foot...

Always funny to watch baseball games all evening where the fans are sweating buckets and using portable fans, only to see a Giants night game have all the fans in jackets, sweatshirts and beanies.

CBS is the new look Pac-12’s primary media partner.

Quite a run that nobody will given them credit for given their jerseys say OKC.

That kid is OUT. A+ level sleeping ability.

Welp, so much for an entertaining Game 7.

Gold Cup could have juiced attendance in Dallas and Vegas if they had staged a 7on7 tournament beforehand.

LSU in Omaha 🫡

Kade Anderson

The hell is up with HBP’s in Omaha this year?

“Wherever a journalist is silenced, the democratic soul of a country is weakened. Freedom of the press is an inalienable common good. Those who conscientiously exercise this vocation cannot see their voices silenced by petty interests or fear of the truth.”

Going through this list:

For all of the hours upon hours of CFP meetings the past few years, all we’ve gotten is approximately nowhere in this whole process. And the commissioners are running the risk of getting tuned out the more they stalemate on a CFP format. www.si.com/college-foot...

Hogs, not like that. Not like that.

There’s a new sheriff in college sports as the CSC has been handed the reigns for rules enforcement. Will it work? Faith in the new system is, well, mixed. www.si.com/college-foot...

CWS down to a very geographically diverse Arkansas, LSU, Louisville and Coastal Carolina.

gonna BREAK SOME NEWS ON BLUESKY industry sources tell me Sacramento State is expected to announce tomorrow that they are withdrawing from the Big Sky and joining the Big West in everything but FB, effective July 1 2026 And if they can't join FBS, I'm told their short term plan is FCS Independent

UL Monroe is cutting women’s tennis “based on increased operational and infrastructure costs.”

"I shouldn't have hit that guy." Still a decent little line for Gage Wood after the third CWS no-hitter.

That is a...um, fascinating call in Omaha.

Imagine what those numbers would be if pricing was decent.

What a putt!!

An encouraging bounce back half from the USMNT.

That’s the stuff.

Truly all-time howler of an own goal.

You'll be shocked, shocked I say, to know FIFA is doing something strange with a pregame show.

Caitlin Clark with 32-7-7 in three quarters against the undefeated Liberty in her first game back from injury.

Murray State-UCLA is a top notch uniform/logo matchup today at the CWS.

The new unofficial (HS) Signing Day seems like it’s now August 1st of a kid’s senior year.

As the House settlement has turned months of planning into furious execution, it’s also obscured the next fight at the NCAA: a further consolidation of power into the hands of a few. www.si.com/college-foot...

The hockey is, once again, good.

You officially have to call UCF’s stadium the Bounce House now.

NCAA president Charlie Baker said he was at a wedding in Indianapolis when he found out about the House settlement.

Behold NIL Go.

Decent start, #USMNT

The hockey, it’s been good. 1-1 headed across the border.
