#AlphabetChallenge #WeekXforX Postcard of the Eiffel Tower, sent to my grandfather by his best friend Ray, with the US 4th infantry, from the liberation of Paris. Back reads: Souvenir. Picked this up on the triumphant march thru Paris (and I do mean thru!) C'est la guerre. Aug. 29, 1944.

It's been harder to avoid doomscrolling lately, but embroidering jellyfish is still a good way to wind down before bed. Here's my latest.

Dubai chocolate gelato - delicious chocolate with a layer of pistachio crushed in pistachio cream on top. Heaven.

Company's coming and I must get the house in order! Something lovely to start your Sunday...

In the early days there was very clear BSky culture reminding you to block people like that and just let them scream into a void. I still recommend block early and often. Don't platform people like that. Don't give them an audience.

On #DDay, remembering my grandfather and his best friend, who were both at Utah Beach; my grandfather on the USS Tuscaloosa and Ray, with the 4th infantry as part of the landing force. You can read more about this incredible coincidence here: wanderingintothepast.wordpress.com/2025/03/19/h...

I just finished putting on a beautiful book fair. I raised over 5K for my school, supported a small business instead of Scholastic. But god save me from the woman whose feedback was that the book choices weren't good b/c her Kindergartener wants Harry Potter. I'm not making that TERF a dime.

Me: I could kind of go for a burger tonight for dinner. Also me: Had a burger last night for dinner. Me:

All I can think of is how much easier it would be for me to greet dogs if they were wearing their names. I know I am sorry, I am probably a creeper. *hangs head in shame*

Any dogs friends able to offer info or advice??

My grandfather's journal on June 5. On the eve of D-Day. Aboard the USS Tuscaloosa, headed for Utah Beach. G.Q. means general quarters, the naval call for battle stations. EWT is Eastern War time.

I am lost as to how some of you have solved Wordle. I am convinced my streak dies today. I have 2 guesses left, only 2 possible words that I can think of and am convinced it's a 3rd option I am not seeing because I feel like my words are too obscure.

Relatedly, I had a girl come to the book fair today and ask for a really good stand alone novel. She doesn't trust a series. Because there are so many great voices out there, we do not just need a 45th version of something that already exists!
