I just made the best refried beans ever, with pintos, bacon fat, and home made hot pepper - garlic paste. No picture because it still just looks like mashed beans. Glorious, glorious mashed beans. #cooking

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Why in heck are people going to such lengths so they can rule a depopulated miserable toxic pit of smoldering ashes?

What fun America is right now. We've a bunch of insipid lunatics running around the building knocking down load-bearing walls because it'll "open up the space" and now we're all just sitting here waiting for the fucking building to collapse on us.

Our capitalist society sees profit as the point of human society, and profit is most harmed by cost, and cost is most caused by labor of humans, so inevitably this will be a society that increasingly sees humans as a problem to eliminate, which is why that is how it is training its machines now.

I would like to nominate Maxwell Smart for national security advisor.

In effectively a single blink of the historical eye, we’ve seen our entire constitutional system simply … stop. We can clearly see what’s happening is wrong—illegal and unconstitutional—and the actors who can do something about that just … aren’t. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/america-s-...

Something that's been clear to me for some time is that a lot of progressive advocacy and politics has overindexed on finding just the right combination of words to say while ignoring the fact that no media ecosystem exists where people might actually hear you say them. New from @mmfa.bsky.social

You know what? Fuck it. Let's go. While this might be true (citation needed), white supremacy in American democracy has always enabled the racists to torpedo things by presenting them as providing benefits to the "undeserving" while taking what should be rightfully the property of whiteness.

🧵This country has a deep history of resisting & rejecting oppression. It isn’t often taught or acknowledged. We need to know. We need to learn from our elders, ancestors, & political forebears. Now. A thread about that. I will inevitably miss many examples; pls reply or QT with additions.

A nonprofit partnership in Maine has canceled $1.9 million in medical debt for 1,500 people. Mainers for Working Families (MFWF) teamed up with Undue Medical Debt to buy the debts, which were worth up to $1.8 million, for a fraction of the cost.

Not being sarcastic or glib, but what is the point of destruction like this? What does Musk gain from doing this? Is it really as shallow an explanation as “I want to just destroy everything.” But … for what? I get the attack on USAID, or the FAA, or DOJ. But what does this … do?

🕊️🐍

I think a real big problem with government spending is that "debt" is something extremely different for poor people than it is for rich people. For poor people, debt is something you do out of desperation; it's a threat that you need to be constantly wary of because if you fuck up it'll destroy you.

It’s been a long fucking day, I’m tired, and I misspoke. Let me rephrase it in a more correct way. Fuck Hakeem Jeffries and almost every other elected Democratic official for forcing me to be the one to get arrested instead of them doing their goddamn job and being leaders.

elon musk at cpac was so fucking weird you guys I know this reads like a parody but I literally just wrote down what happened www.theverge.com/elon-musk/61...
