If people really find this to be such an easy conclusion, then Congressional authority should be easy to get. So why don’t they insist on a vote? They know this isn’t “progressive” resistance. They want to marginalize it as such because on top of this war being ILLEGAL, it’s also deeply unpopular.

The thing about the Khalil case is that it's very very good that he's free now but you can't have it take three months between "the government kidnaps you off the street for no basis reason whatsoever" and "a judge makes them let you go." You just can't.

I just have to say, as a historian of the Reconstruction-era Klan, that masked paramilitaries are very bad and masked vigilantes are even worse and there are causal links between the two and none of this is good for democracy.

this is crazy. law enforcement was in north minneapolis @ 10am saturday and commandeered the across the street neighbor’s house for FIVE HOURS and didn’t tell her why they were there! to recap: no alerts for north minneapolis and a neighbor had to let her home be used for a stakeout unreal

They are withholding this student's diploma. Whether or not you agree with him, you cannot say you're trying to educate students to stand up and speak out when they feel they need to, and then threaten to withhold the diploma they have *earned* when they do this.
