“Mmeory” is a multi genre anthology of memory manipulation stories on KS. We continue to slowly surge this week - 93% base funded ($367 to go - 12 more backers needed) Help us get there and then on to the author stretch goals - www.kickstarter.com/projects/526... #sff #fantasy #book #ks #booksky

Now my sciatica is acting up. I think the universe is telling me to slow down.

I have been in an emotional and creative slump, and the news is not fucking helping.

i'm struggling with how to write this post without seeming like i'm capitalizing on trans suffering. but if you're like me, and reading the work of other trans writers makes you feel less alone, i publish a whole quarterly mag for trans writers and artists. it's what i've got. www.beestungmag.com

(Buying BCS ebooks or an ebook subscription at @weightlessbooks.bsky.social gets you BCS stories a week early on your e-reader and helps us pay our authors a pro rate and our First Readers an honorarium worthy of writing all replies personalized. Thank you!)

In the US especially people have really bought into the idea that disability is a personal failing of some kind. That you did something wrong. It's not. It's just being human. Disability has a huge spectrum and we would be so much better off if people just embraced & accepted that.

Either you become disabled sooner or later, or you die first. That's how that works. Yes, even you, reading this. The only out is death, and if your goal is to not die, you need to be thinking about disability. It can happen any time. Unfortunately some people also think "maybe I'll never die" 🙃

I need y'all to read this thread. That org has been and continues to be suspect.

The HyphenPunk kickstarter is still a little over 100$ away from funded with a week to go. This is only asking for a small part of my yearly spending to help me while unemployed. Any help helps. www.kickstarter.com/projects/hyp...

I had SO MUCH FUN wearing this, I hope everyone's prepared to be assaulted by a goose at every convention I'm at from now on. The eyes also light up red, because geese are demonic dinosaurs. Not sure how I can top this, need to think of something equally unhinged for next year's Yeti...

I have books for sale at victoriajanssen.itch.io - writers get a higher royalty percentage at this site, which is why I'm giving it a try. I've posted both the Refuge series and my "Treats" short story collections, plus a freebie (or pay what you wish).

Now open for the first half of our novella window! If you’re not ready, or you’re not eligible to submit during this round, you have until October for the second half of the window 💫

Andry José Hernández Romero, I remember you, even if I do not know how to articulate my horror, rage, & sorrow at your treatment by my government. No one has heard from you in 91 days. As vigil, I’m posting a photo (& today 50 photos) of you every day until you are returned from El Salvador.

Two martinis at dinner and I’m wasted, AMA.

Between Baraka, Iver, and Padilla - you gotta ask why it’s only our legislators of color taking these risks. Disproportionate punishment will reign down on them but they are alone in going directly to places where abuses of power are happening. Meanwhile, white moderates debate “distractions”.

the cumbia, mariachi, folklorico dancers at protests aren't like...fun add-ons. in the same way that drums and dancers at Indigenous protests aren't accessories. our cultures are part of HOW we protest. it brings people together, it makes space for something besides fear, and it grounds people

On this morning’s walk to breakfast at the pub, I noticed the cottonwood trees have mostly finished dispersing their fluff.

In the spirit of circulating more good info, the stunt boob I mention from time to time is not recreational. I'm a titty expert. As in, I've been an internationally board certified lactation consultant for going on two decades. Let's talk breast cancer and mammograms for a sec.

I worked on this jigsaw over the weekend. Soon I’ll take it apart so I have room for a Lego build.

maybe the mexican flags aren't actually for the mostly gringo pundits criticizing protestors, but are actually for the mexican american community being terrorized? is solidarity not an appropriate "message" to send to your own community? can latines not be in conversation with each other?

As someone said prior, the only reason Greta got released is because people were very loud about her specifically. There are still 8 other flotilla members detained, apparently without fresh water in bedbug infested prison. They all deserve to be fought for, too.

What must it be like, to be so beautiful?
