#HappyCaturday The girls are enjoying a snooze together.

Thanks to 5 weeks in physical therapy, I was able to work on the lathe today for the first time in MONTHS. I am pleased with the outcome. This is going to my niece, who went through her graduation ceremony last weekend. Combination graduation/housewarming gift.

#HappyCaturday my girls really get along well, better than I could have hoped. Grover no longer qualifies as a kitten, but she is still a tiny orange fluffy girl.

#HappyCaturday It is a relatively chilly May day in GA, and the kitties are snuggling.

Dear students, when you miss a test on January 16 and don’t make it up until May 9, do not have the AUDACITY to ask if I will grade it today. Just. Don’t.

You know the rules. When you see this, you have to repost it.

#showmeyourknits #knitsky I am making progress. Scenery is a bit different, as I am a vendor at a craft fair this weekend.

#HappyCaturday Emilio, the best kitty to ever exist, enjoys a late afternoon snooze. He made himself scarce we assembled some bookcases and moved all of my cookbooks to it.

My family, like many, has a group chat ongoing. My 81 year old mother just shared a news story about the George Santos sentencing, with her own commentary of “Fuck around.” My mother cracks me up.

As I suspected, I overcooked the Pavlovas. Went for less the the minimum time, but whatever. We ate them. I did manage to get the perfect medium rare on the lamb chops. Oh, and we should not ignore SignalGate, Part 2. Pete Hegseth is a national security risk.

Oh, do I have an 06:15 call time tomorrow morning, with a 45 minute drive, and rather than practicing my solos to sing (Exulstet chant, and an arrangement of a hymn that the director did), am I baking? Think I over baked the pavlova shells, but nailed the pignoli cookies. #HappyEaster

I have made some progress on my sweater. It isn’t perfect, but I still love it. #knitsky #ShowMeYourNeedles

#HappyCaturday Natasha has been licking my arm for reasons unknown. She was almost feral when she first arrived, but she has really settled in nicely.

I work with a woman who keeps chickens. A few weeks ago, I asked her if she had any eggs, I would love to buy some. She brought me a dozen but refused payment. Yesterday I brought her 4 empty cartons with $10 tucked in. Today, she brought this and told me not to pay; she is overrun with them.

The final product. Braised short rib ragu over handmade pasta, with grated Parm. I hurt in too many joints right now, but this was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Definitely one of the best I have ever made.

Pasta progress. Considering my rheumatologist advised me this week that I need physical therapy for my shoulders, I consider this a win.

#HappyCaturday Oscar is working overtime at the biscuit factory. Yes, he is sucking on the blanket. He definitely was taken from his mama way too soon. Meanwhile, Grover is looking angelic, like she didn’t imbed her claws in my thigh in an attempt to get my yarn earlier.

Pasta in the making. It will make a nice base for the braised short rib ragu that is to come.

#HappyCaturday It is naptime for kitty girls. Emilio wants to join in, too.

#ShowMeYourKnits I have started a cardigan. Mohair and silk laceweight held together with silk fingering weight. 3 mm and 4 mm beads placed individually with a crochet hook. Pattern is Heaven cardigan by Pope Vergara on Ravelry. I haven’t cut the spiral notch in the cherry yarn bowl yet; might skip.

I have achieved the impossible. That half tube of painters caulk that everyone saves at the end of a project, only to throw it away years later because it dries up? I just used it again! It was from 12/21, so pretty amazing. I am now looking at every possible place that might need caulking.

Today was a good day. These girls “helped” me paint yesterday, one a little too much. Today, I changed 4 outlets, 3 successfully. My almost 84 YO dad futzed with it, and it now works. I made 6 bottles of olive-apricot kernel lotion. My soul is at peace. #HappyCaturday even on a Tuesday

#HappyCaturday Emilio, the best cat ever to exist, is happy to have me home.
