I used to tweet about Red Wings and stats a lot. Maybe I’ll do it again.

Would not hate the Red Wings poking around on K'Andre Miller. 6-5 left-handed 25 y/o D who can move with a good history of positive underlying numbers relative to his team. Not a slam dunk obviously. There are concerns. But I like him as a bet.

New Article: Are bigger defensemen better at defending in the playoffs? hockeyanalysis.com/2025/05/27/a...

Little bit sad about this! Guy who is not big, not fast, does not possess an amazing shot, and despite all this carved out an excellent career on the back of being an absolutely relentless puck possession guy

From G3 of Toronto series on, Florida is on the hottest heater I’ve maybe ever seen

Man it just hit me that the Panthers are gonna cruise to another Cup win and Toronto is gonna run it back again as a result.

Well deserved 5 and a game. That looked awful and was insanely dangerous

The main benefit of Detroit’s prospect pool depth is the sheer quantity of team controlled contracts. For every single one of their prospects that look likely to hit the NHL, that’s 3 years of ELC Then let’s say this is a depth piece (think Finnie), you have a few more years of cheap RFA extensions

My Carolina theory for awhile is that their play style is a distinctly Noob Stomping style. It’s like when you pick the gimmick character in a fighting game. Teams that can’t handle it REALLY can’t handle it. But if you can, and the best teams can, suddenly it’s just a bunch of 0-threat point shots

I want to snark, but I actually don't hate the Blashill hiring for Chicago. He obviously never had a real roster in Detroit, but his teams generally didn't quit despite being undermanned, and his pedigree outside the Detroit stint is strong. No idea if it'll work, but second-time coaches often hit

Hilarious that Detroit of all teams had multiple goalies better than what Edmonton is rolling with

Please give me 7 games of this series

That’s 3 goals in 5:26 for Dallas

Incredible

Fun fact: Justin Abdelkader's last goal was during the 2018-2019 season. He will cost $1m against the cap for the Red Wings for one more full season - a full *seven* years later.

The answer to the "should the Red Wings pursue Mitch Marner" is obviously yes. Don't overthink it, and don't fall into Toronto Media Brain. He's one of the best 5-10 wingers in the league, and the Leafs issues run deeper than one player. Whether Marner would actually come here is a different story

TNT is so lucky last night was a blowout Leafs G7 loss. It’s going to suck up all the oxygen, which means everyone will forget that they MISSED A THIRD PERIOD GAME 7 GOAL.

Leafs really got a 2-0 series lead and then got outscored 19-8 over the next 5 games.

Marner will look better when he’s on a line with Larkin and Raymond in October imo

My official prediction: Toronto stuns the world and beats the Panthers. Curses are declared broken, parades are planned. Then they get dump trucked by the Canes in 5.

Anyway congrats to Auston Matthews on finally joining the “scored a goal later than the first round of the playoffs” club. You join illustrious goal scorers such as Justin Abdelkader in attaining this achievement.
