Plymouth born, Cheshire based. A dab hand in the kitchen, occasionally witty, and a very slow runner. In my 40s now so it's all downhill from here, unless I'm in the Peaks

I'm no Alanis Morisette, but I'm sure there's some irony in a puppy running off with a training book called 'perfectly imperfect puppy'

That awkward moment when you hire a decorator who charges a daily rate, then doesn't go home... Obviously we don't want to tell him to leave when it means we have to pay for an extra day of work, but he's been here since 7:30 this morning

The temptation to skip Duolingo tomorrow, just because

We've decided, as a family, to start couch to 5k (again). I figured it's a good way to motivate everyone to get a bit fitter, and get me back into a proper running routine

Holy crap this looks amazing, even by Rockstar's very high standards #GTA6 #GTAVI youtu.be/VQRLujxTm3c?...

A frog has moved into our pond already. Pretty chuffed as it took 3 years in the last house

The wife has decided to watch 50 Shades. 2 minutes in and it's possibly the worst acting I've ever seen, even worse than The Room

Some of the reactions to the GTA 6 delay on Reddit are a bit extreme. Give me a delayed and perfected game over a rushed and broken game any day

Just heard the song 'Clubbed to Death' for the first time in... A while.. Damn that takes me back

Builders just knocked the power out. For a brief moment I thought we were experiencing the kind of power cuts seen in Spain and Portugal

Five years. That's how long I've managed to prevent spoiling The Last of Us 2 to my wife

Deeply frustrating to see Argyle pull off a crucial win today, but make no ground thanks to other results at the bottom of the table. Relegation is pretty much inevitable now, but at least we go down fighting. #pafc #coyg

Finally a sunny day in Cheshire

Took the kid bowling, got absolutely trounced by an 8 year old... Next time I'm turning the bumpers off for him and on for me

I forgot what it's like having a baby (my son is now 8), but the puppy is bringing all the memories back...

Finally home (getting out of Manchester is always a chore!). Highly recommend A Knight's Tale if you get the chance to watch it. Amazing staging and performances all round, and some great songs of course

New musical time

New puppy! He's going to be a giant

The wife has talked me into getting a puppy (which we collect this weekend). This obviously means I'll end up being the one looking after it

Lovely walk around Snowdonia/Eryri yesterday morning. Much nicer view than my desk has been today...

Calling all embroidery and/or Adobe experts. My wife is looking to create embroidery patterns (occasionally from a photo), which we assumed could be done in Illustrator/Photoshop. We're struggling to find a way to do this, so can anyone point us in the right direction?

Wild cat on the loose in Cheshire (or so he'd have you believe)

Finally got around to watching Civil War. Good film, but my main takeaway was that I need to buy a new camera, obviously

The music in Hobbycraft is literal torture. Covers of great songs sung to a karaoke standard (at best)

Teen Warned Not To Accept Group Chat Invites From National Security Advisors She Doesn’t Know

Today I learned there's a character in the 2008 Incredible Hulk film which shares my name

Debating taking the kid to Disneyland when we're in France this summer. I am not even remotely an adrenaline junkie, so please convince me with things I might enjoy

I think the cat is contemplating killing me because I moved her slightly (which is totally fair)

Started watching High Potential tonight. I love shows about extremely clever people solving crimes, so it's definitely got, ahem, potential

My wife has no interest in using Bluesky (or that other place), but does love #bm100 updates. Guess who's having to check the hashtag and send her screenshots

Weekend walk at Windermere

Watched Alien Romulus last night. Probably the first good Alien film since Aliens, and I couldn't help but think that Cailee Spaeny would have made a good Ellie

If ever there was a time to win away #coyg #pafc

Nice work in Tottenham

What a beautiful day in The Peaks yesterday. Can't beat a good sunrise to start the day

I do love Philomena Cunk
