Why did I delay putting out my flag yesterday? It has been co-opted by a destructive hateful movement that is harming us all. It's become a symbol of MAGA. Last year I conducted an informal poll outside my front door, asking random passers-by how they now view our flag. The answers: Fear. Hate. War.

Anyone here a bit nervous about flying the flag on Flag Day yesterday. Sadly, I was- I only put it outside later in the day after the protests (when I was home to keep an eye on things). I also put out my sign, lest its presence be misconstrued.

This is such a disgraceful theme, @nytimes @wapo @latimes. Cancelled two of these after they cancelled election endorsements, but still have access through the end of my subscriptions. I want to see headline FACTS, not Opinion Column hyperbole, guys. We're experiencing news outlet cowardice.

My best guess is the “fire Powell” Rhetoric is not really about actually firing Powell, though I’m sure he would love to do it. I think it’s more about turning Powell into the new Fauci and the Fed into the CDC. He needs a scapegoat so his followers never blame him for the failures ahead.
