thibs never really figured out that the regular season is for experimentation, not winning every game. his teams get overseeded in the playoffs and lose to more talented teams with more tools because they didn't overindex on the regular season. hope thibs becomes a killer d coordinator somewhere.

this is actually a persistent jrpg issue. there's essentially always a meta comp. metaphor refantazio skirts some of this with it's archetype system, but my kingdom for a jrpg that actually requires some level of party management.
