If only we had warned folks before the election that the real plan wasn’t border security…it was mass deportation in the interior, federalizing the National Guard, ripping people out of homes, families, jobs, and schools. Oh wait…we did. This segment with the author of 2025 aired one year ago.

People not wanting to be Christian in America is not an attack on Christianity.

i don't mean to come off as rude but we cannot sustain ourselves on outrage and anger forever. i think it's even more important now to post about other things too. even if it gets less engagement. you never know who will find it cool and interesting.

It’s curious that the people that insisted SCOTUS would never overturn Roe v Wade and abortion rights advocates claiming otherwise were alarmists, are now the same people insisting that LGBTIQ activists’ legal strategies have been too “aggressive” in advocating for the rights of transgender people.

I don't think we're in a democracy anymore. Unmarked secret police kidnapping people off the street? A dictator mobilizing the military against civilians? Defying court orders? Ignoring due process? Arresting political opponents? Democracy has left the building. We CAN & MUST get it back, though.

When Dobbs came down, the media rightly saw it as the culmination of a decades long effort to eliminate abortion rights by the conservative legal movement. When Skrmetti came down, the media blamed trans people and not that same conservative legal machine. It's the same court and lawyers.

The response to Wednesday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding Tennessee’s law barring transgender minors from obtaining gender-affirming medical care has been muted at best. At Law Dork, a look at how we actually got here.

This. ICE must be abolished.

OK i’ve seen almost no media outlet pick up on the fact the Supreme Court ruling endorsed conversion therapy and opens a portal to the normalization of conversion therapy nationally so here’s a thread explaining how they did so, and why you should care (1/x)

Democrats, major medical groups denounce Supreme Court’s gender-affirming care ruling thehill.com/homenews... #transgender #trans #LGBTQ #LGBTQIA

Juneteenth went uncelebrated by the White House. That alone says everything you need to know about this regime.

Trans people are called a death cult, while pro-life Republicans do actual necromancy

Happy Juneteenth, Illinois. It may seem the pace of progress is heartbreakingly slow, but our state has long led the nation in the fight for equality — and we won't stop now. Today, we recommit to building a brighter, fairer future for all.

Transgender people deserve to dictate our own lives and futures. No court decision can change who we know we are.

1. After the Skrmetti decision, the New York Times has published 6 articles dancing on the graves of trans youth and spreading disinformation on care. It was cited 7 times in the ruling. Read my latest on what will be a black stain on the NYT for a generation. Subscribe to support my journalism.

Just saying, there's "scientific uncertainty" for gender-affirming care for minors in the same way that there's "uncertainty" about vaccines or Earth being round. It's a disingenuous validation of a viewpoint that is clearly and consistently contradicted by science.

People need to realize that the New York Times is going to pivot to "self-ID" now, essentially to build up the next fight, a total end of all legal recognition for transgender people. A handful of states have already started passing these laws, and it is absolutely what they are going for next.

The article frames Skrmetti as a poor strategic gamble by activists. In reality, Tennessee passed a categorical ban applicable solely to transgender adolescents which was framed in sex-based terms. The choices were (a) challenge it or (b) concede defeat in advance and abandon trans teens nationwide.

It is 1979 and the New York Times is attacking healthcare for trans people. It is 2025 and the New York Times is attacking healthcare for trans people. It is.....

The transgender rights movement did not "bet on SCOTUS." Transgender people are just people who are trying to live their lives in peace and happiness and the structures of power, including the legal system up to SCOTUS and media up to the NY Times, have chosen to abuse them for their own ends.

I think the time to try and convert transphobes has well since passed. I don’t think they’re susceptible to logical or empathetic arguments

This predatory organization is misleading parents of trans kids. Also: Minecraft parkour! 😜 www.youtube.com/shorts/gfT54...

Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld was a gay, Jewish doctor living in Germany. In 1919, Hirschfeld opened the Institute for Sexual Research, and is known for pioneering transgender research, care and gender affirming surgeries. Additional info; www.npr.org/2023/03/01/1... #Pride #AltGov #AltCitizen

No, we didn't lose the whole fight for trans rights today. We lost a battle, yes. But the fight isn't over. And no, trans kids don't need to be told it gets better. They DO need to see us fight for them. They need to know we won't give up on them. Tomorrow we start the fight again.

Also CHILDREN ARE HUMAN BEINGS WITH BODILY AUTONOMY Even if there was no death at risk whatsoever, CHILDREN ARE NOT THE PROPERTY OF THEIR PARENTS.

Transgender people deserve to dictate our own lives and futures. No court decision can change who we know we are.

BREAKING: The Food and Drug Administration has just approved a powerful new drug that provides nearly complete protection against HIV infection with just a single administration every six months.

I don’t care what the polls say. We should never abandon or marginalize any class of our fellow people. Healthcare decisions should be made by families, individuals, and their providers, not by the social moment. Saddened by the action today out of the Supreme Court.

getting older and watching the US move pretty fast towards broader acceptance of gay people gave me hope that fewer trans kids would have childhoods like mine. hard to have that hope today. if you’re cis & know a trans kid, no you don’t, but also: bend over backwards to help them survive this.

When you call your senators, tell them the part that strips trans people of gender affirming care in the BBB is section 71117. They can only pretend they don't know for so long. Call and point section 71117 out to them. Show your senators YOU give a shit about trans people.

"We're not saying you can't get health care because you're transgender, which would be illegal. We're just saying we refuse to treat the conditions that cause you to be transgender. That's different and okay." A pathetic, indefensible logical pretzel from SCOTUS

Justice Sotomayor is right: Gender-affirming care saves lives. Denying trans youth the right to essential medical care is denying them the future they deserve.

Sarah McBride please stop talking

sorry HRT is actually the difference between life and death for some of us and you should be acting accordingly instead of making us pretend it's not so bad.

Our best-case scenario right now is a worst-case scenario at almost any other time in American history.

If you ever needed a reminder that women and transfolk are oppressed by the same enemy, let today's SCOTUS decision be that reminder. This is why I have no time for the "just asking questions" crowd about a marginalized community's humanity. It's all the same fight, and solidarity is necessary.

The NYT and Azeen Ghorayshi were cited several times by Clarence Thomas in his overtly transphobic concurrence saying that explicit discrimination against trans people is a good thing and would be entirely constitutional.

It's also pretty easy for McBride to say we already lost the fight for trans rights when she is in the cohort most easily able to survive such a loss. Surrendering when you have little to lose is easy. Fighting for others who have more to lose than you do - and taking that risk yourself - is hard.

I don't think this is consciously true for all of them, but I absolutely think that they don't want children to have agency bc they think they deserve the ability to control others' lives -- and for the sexual abusers among them, that absolutely includes the ability to control their victims.

We won't let today's ruling stop us from continuing our fight for trans justice.

Today’s SCOTUS decision upholding Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors marks a pivotal moment. Protesters gathered nearby, voicing concern and reaffirming their commitment to continue fighting for trans youth and equal rights.

One of the crazy things about the MAGAt Era is how only GOP testimony is considered believable when it was GOP lies that got us all here in the first place.

I wrote this in November and, in light of the Skirmetti decision, am once again begging Democrats not to see abandoning transgender rights as the right play politically

Jesse Singal is cited 3 times in the amicus briefing for the decision to allow states to ban youth gender-affirming care www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/23...

To all trans youth: We're with you. We have your back, and we will never stop fighting alongside you for the futures you deserve.
