I've got one of the rarest flowers in the world [when it's wild] growin in my front pollinator garden and today not one but two of it's flowers bloomed and I am just so chuffed. If you can, do some gardening, it's great therapy.

Seeing this post sent me down a wormhole where i discovered her partner is one of the most insufferable musicians I've ever worked with

I do not regret to inform you that we're gonna win

RFKJR did such a bad job yesterday that the white house needed…supplements

whoever this person is I hope they have a time machine because the last day to file petitions was May 29

We have by now past the point where the words of an anonymous “Dem strategist” are utterly meaningless to the discourse. If you don’t have the courage to put your name behind your ideas your ideas aren’t worth anyone’s attention. The source here could just as easily be Steve Bannon.

Again it's very telling what journalists feel comfortable editorializing about

Piping in with a casual reminder: Adding calcium to your soil doesn't fix blossom end rot Most people's soil has enough calcium Don't pour milk on your tomatoes Don't bury tums Plants aren't people & they can't uptake calcium the same way people do Blossom end rot means you aren't watering correctly

Hey at least he took the toddler crushing bar off the front bumper

If he wins in November, he's going to need many competent progressive people who wouldn't touch city government with a ten foot poll to join city government. A long bench is needed. that's a lesson from Chicago.

Zohran Mamdani simply doesn't have the experience of a South Bend Indiana mayor running to be President of the United States

I wish Brandon et al had done this in Chicago. Immediately kept people in the city informed about what they were doing, where trouble lay, and importantly what help they would need from city residents. Then a CONSISTENT communication directly from the 5th floor.

Fun fact: In 1978, Paul Krugman wrote a very detailed paper at Yale about the hypothetical economics of interstellar trade www.princeton.edu/~pkrugman/in...

GMSI or MSI, but I am never ever calling it Griffin MSI and I will look askew at all who do.

I am sure everyone will look the other way, but the guy who just won the Democratic mayoral primary in NYC _ran on expanding access to trans healthcare._

huh. TIL.

It's possible NYC will have a mayor that is 23 months older than 1/3 Chuck Grassley's age

This is wild. If Dems want to figure out a way to win back the minority vote that has started to go elsewhere, this is the way.

I think this would hasten the decline in ad revenue and streaming subscriptions, and I'm not even saying that as a dunk on how insufferable Weiss' schtick has become.

I actually don’t want Cuomo to drop the third party bid because now we have to worry that Michael Bloomberg and Peter Thiel will find a more effective candidate to rally the landlords.

andrew cuomo angrily tearing out his nipple rings

democrats, your voters are absolutely furious at you. wake the fuck up.

What if all the catastrophizing, bigoted mailers and texting campaigns actually helped Mamdani because it signaled that he scared the kind of people who bug the shit out of voters by producing that campaign spam.

stop running away from trans people and fight back

NEW: NSF will be kicked out of their building. Announcement will be made tomorrow by HUD Sec. and Governor of VA. HUD will take over the NSF building over the next two years. NSF staffer: "There is no planning for NSF, no identified future location, appropriation for a new building or a move."

this but unironically

Looking forward to scoping out Ironheart tonight

Ugh.

To be really super duper clear about this: as a corporate lawyer, this is *shocking* language in a corporate certificate

This is the use of the military for domestic law enforcement; I don’t see any other way to describe it.

Lots going on in the world right now but please don’t forget they’re going to try and jam one of the largest transfers of wealth from working families to the richest corporations through the Senate this week.

This is great news, but I'm not breathing a sigh of relief just yet. Republicans will no doubt try to sneak a new provision in that clears this procedural hurdle. But this is a sign of what's possible with public pressure, so if you care about your public lands, keep it up.

I'm still struggling to understand how a categorically unlikeable person such as "based" Mike Lee has gotten into the upper echelons of American power.

Why is Lance Armstrong's podcast allowed to sponsor Hincapie's new team? escapecollective.com/why-is-lance...

Essentially the argument seems to boil down to: if a corrupt executive branch was democratically elected, then the voters elected the corruption as well, and therefore we all have to tolerate it for the next four[Ha] years when we'll have a chance to elect an lawful/ethical executive branch instead.

What actor’s expression in a movie will stay with you for the rest of your life?

this is the most hot dog meme tweet in some time

Because it's this time of year again, I need to post my favorite cycling ad ever. #TdF
