On International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, I want to say to the LGBT+ community: I hear you, I get it, I stand with you, and the Liberal Democrats will never stop fighting to build a country and a world where you are truly free to be who you are.

#SocialCare reform is needed more urgently than the government’s timeline.

LibDems are facing up to local issues and solving problems. We don’t blame immigrants but we take responsibility.

As well as gaining more than 160 councillors and taking control of three new councils, the @libdems.org.uk are the biggest party in three other councils. We have a large majority on Chichester District and we won both seats in the Midhurst by-election last week! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Chiefly, we want to know whether the “deal” will allow us to #SaveOurNHS

“Marking VE Day isn’t about glorifying war. It’s about honouring peace. It’s about remembering what can happen when hatred goes unchecked, when division is fuelled rather than healed, and when freedom is under threat” writes @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/opinion...

Parliament must get a vote on the government’s deal with the US. Blocking MPs from having a vote would be Trumpian tactics, plain and simple.

#SocialCare: we need to get on with fixing it

Some of Chichester’s finest attractions are shown in this fun video:

Residents of Chichester are in favour of road safety also. That’s why LibDems here are winning our campaigns with policies that favour pedestrians and cyclists.

Liberal Democrats have overtaken the Conservatives at these local elections. Now we're on track to replace them next General Election as well. People have put their faith in us because they are appalled by the Conservatives lurching to extremes and cosying up to Nigel Farage.

The returning officer has now posted the official Midhurst election results online.

Listen to BBC radio Sussex at 0825 to hear our winning LibDem candidates being interviewed by Danny Pike, any minute now. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

CONGRATULATIONS to our new County Cllr Yvonne and District Councillor @dominicmerritt.bsky.social on winning their Midhurst by-elections! www.chichester.gov.uk/electionresu...

Thank you for protecting our national landscape from overdevelopment, @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social

My warmest congratulations to Mark Carney. Voters in Canada have elected a Liberal government on a mandate to combat Trump's dangerous populism. Across the globe, it is liberals who are taking the lead in standing up for prosperity, security and democracy in the face of Trump, Putin and the rest.

Your LibDem MPs and Councillors know we are WORKING FOR YOU 🔶

Our hardworking LibDem MP @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social shares her weekly roundup.

A new Clean Water Authority could really improve the declining status of Chichester Harbour!

You can hear Chichester MP @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social on last night’s “Any Questions” on BBC Radio 4 today at 1.30, or by following this link on iPlayer. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Important by-election next week in Midhurst, West Sussex. For Chichester District Council the LibDem candidate is bright, young @dominicmerritt.bsky.social. For West Sussex County Council is seasoned campaigner Yvonne Gravely. Both candidates are eager to serve you. Get out and #Vote!

Chichester Harbour is a “National Landscape” (AONB) and SSSI. @naturalengland.bsky.social has declared its status as “in decline” due to increasing levels of water pollution. It’s time for central government to end the #SewageScandal.

Pope Francis’ passing is a profound loss to millions across the world. He was a leader of compassion and courage, speaking up for those in need and calling for peace in a world too often divided.

Blocking MPs from voting on a US trade deal would be straight out of Trump's anti-democratic playbook. Labour MPs should make clear to the PM they won't let him sell out our NHS, undercut farmers or weaken protection for children online. He must give Parliament a vote.

A big THANK YOU to LibDem Councillor Rob Reiss. Rob has taken a campaigning holiday from Ecclesfield to canvass in the Midhurst By-election for our great candidates Yvonne Gravely and @dominicmerritt.bsky.social 🔶🔶🔶🔶

BBC NEWS: Lib Dems push for rural crime teams, proposing to redirect funds from Police and Crime Commissioners to enhance community safety and combat rising rural crime. - by Joshua Nevett

Everyone’s watching Reform UK, but the real story is Ed Davey, the most popular party leader in England. The Liberal Democrats are on the rise, it's just that the pollsters forgot to mention it | Stephen McNair @eastangliabylines.co.uk @stephenmcnair.bsky.social

Parents are being forced to watch their little ones cry through the night, all because the NHS dental system has been left to rot. It's a national disgrace. It's time for the Labour government to show some ambition and turn this around, starting with a total overhaul of the dental contract.

Statement from us on today's ruling: "As LGBT+ Liberal Democrats... we don't think Britain is the sort of country where people should have to show their 'papers, please' in order to use the loo. ...we do not support efforts to legislate in ignorance to enforce conformity." 🔶🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🧡

Tackling rural crime is a big challenge in the Bourne Division of West Sussex County Council, with hare coursing and thefts of valuable farm machinery by organised gangs. @eddavey.libdems.org.uk’s proposals make sense.

“The Rolls-Royce car factory.. employs thousands of people locally and is being specifically targeted with 25% tariffs. Ordinary people will suffer, our public services will suffer, and our manufacturing industry will suffer.” @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/opinion...

We have to stand tall with our allies in Canada and Europe against Trump's tariffs and show that Britain will not be bullied. That means preparing potential tariffs including on Elon Musk's Teslas, and urgently negotiating a better trade deal with the EU.

Residents near Chichester Harbour National Landscape face the same issues of sewage dumping. It spoils a recreational area and destroys our local tourist economy.

It’s increasingly difficult to find an NHS dentist all round the country, including here in West Sussex.

Yesterday morning BBC Radio Sussex reported on the #sewage dumped in Chichester Harbour. Their report is from 2:06:50 and LibDem Leader of Chichester District Council @adrianmoss.bsky.social is interviewed at 2:16:00 www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

“I joined the Scottish Liberal Democrats the day after resigning the Tory whip. They treat colleagues with respect and decency. They are upbeat and positive. I’ve felt more tolerance in three days than I have in the past three years.” @jamiegreeneuk.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The @libdems.org.uk announced that they will call for a vote in parliament on any trade deal that the UK government tries to strike with the US president, as it attempts to avoid the worst of his tariffs and the developing global trade war. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

🦷 Today I sat down with my colleagues Danny Chambers and Alison Bennett to discuss dentistry with Eddie Crouch, the Chair of the British Dental Association. Over 12 million people in the UK are without an NHS dentist and the dental contract, which is fundamentally flawed, needs urgent reform.

A little of what I got up to last week!

It’s a little late this week, but here’s some of what I got up to last week as Chichester’s Member of Parliament!

How can this government justify cutting this allowance for #UnpaidCarers? Centre for Care research found that the economic value of the support provided by unpaid carers in England and Wales is an estimated £162 billion per year, 29% more in real terms than 2011.

Protecting our rivers and beaches from pollution is important all over the UK. It’s a vital issue for those who live and work near Chichester Harbour AONB, SSSI, and National Landscape.
