I signed the final bills Melissa Hortman shepherded through the most narrowly divided legislature in the county. All of them bipartisan. We debated, we found common ground, and we compromised. That’s how democracy should function.

At a time when other politicians attempted to distort the truth and disrupt our state, we stayed true to the virtues of the Land of Lincoln. As long as I'm governor, Illinois will uphold our Midwestern and American values — by treating people with dignity, respect, and fairness.

I know we’re all singing Gavin’s praises this week but as far as Governors go, Pritzker was there first, without his state being under direct attack by this regime (other elected officials too). Credit where credit is due. Integrity is about your choices before the cameras are on.

Greta Thunberg and other human rights defenders have been kidnapped by Israel on international waters. The aid they were delivering to Gaza that includes baby formula & medical supplies has been stolen. The ship Madleen was attacked with drones & will be forced to port at Ashdod Port. #3E #FreeGaza

To be in public office right now is to constantly ask yourself: How do I make sure I'm standing on the right side of history? There's a simple answer. The wrong side of history will always tell you to be afraid - the right side of history will always expect you to be brave.

“ICE private contractors paid via 1099.” These folks are called bounty hunters and are not bound by the same standards as federal employees.

A decade ago, Illinois was plunged into a budget impasse that disrupted the lives of working families. The times have changed — nine credit upgrades, seven balanced budgets, a $2.5 billion Rainy Day Fund, jobs at an all-time high, and a growing economy.

Ukraine did something that the US and Europe failed to do for nearly half a century, it crippled Russia’s ability to launch nuclear weapons and long range strikes. At least one arm of Russia’s nuclear trident was destroyed. Ukraine did that, on its own, successfully. Have you said thank you yet?

Once again, it's not "doxxing" to report the name of a government employee.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025... This is the type of event that was written about in the Bible as a sign of god’s wrath, before science. Per Carl Sagan, science is a light in the darkness of fear and ignorance.

Her stats line up with CDC data…

My goal has been to make Illinois the best state to raise a family — that starts with kids having access to what they need so they can focus on learning and growing.   Illinois was among the first states to implement SUN Bucks, and this year is no exception.

More Russian sites were taken down and/or compromised by Anonymous overnight, no details if useful info was extracted yet. Everyday is a new opportunity for Kremlin bonking.

Here's the reality of this "Jewish safety" argument I keep hearing: The only world that's safe for us is one that's safe for everyone else, too. You can't kill your way to safety. And the best way to make a world safe for everyone is to start with our own. Because we have a genocide to stop.

Harvard's Sidechat. Who agrees?

“God is on your side” makes for a clever, feel-good cliché, but it’s not true. God is on the side of love, peace, justice, and redemption. If you are on that side, God is right there with you. If you are not, God beckons you to switch sides.

The same people who say Adriana Smith should stay hooked up to machines so a fetus can gestate inside her dead body for 7 months because “it’s a sacrifice a mother would make” can’t fathom a mother crossing the border with her children in hopes of providing a better life for them.

Major multi-national corporation caves to an unhinged, radical, leftist demand to pay taxes JUST FOR DOING BUSINESS. Double taxation for corporations is good now. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Another major step forward for the EV industry in Illinois. Damera Bus USA is a leader in clean energy transit that I'm proud to announce will open its first-ever US assembly plant in the Greater Peoria region — a $31.5M investment that will leave behind a greener future.

We didn’t forget about journalist Jamal Khashoggi, did we? Murdered inside a Saudi consulate. Dismembered. Then a full-on coverup, sanctioned at the highest levels.

It doesn't matter what your net worth is; what matters is what you're actually doing for people to lift them up.

Jamal Khashoggi -- remember his name.

I'd just like to spare a thought for the murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi today. Brian Kilmeade thinks America has "moved past" his horrifying assassination. I haven't. And I doubt I'm alone.

Rest in Peace José Mujica "When you buy something, you're not paying money for it. You're paying with the hours of life you had to spend earning that money. The difference is that life is one thing money can't buy. Life only gets shorter. It's pitiful to waste one's life and freedom that way." #3E

We have this body of water in Chicago called Bubbly Creek where the stockyards would dump whatever was leftover. Decomposing blood and entrails would release gas, causing the bubbling. Care for a swim Bobby?

Pope Leo is more relatable than ever. Who doesn’t have someone like this in their family or friends? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

“Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.”—*Dune* by Frank Herbert. Pope Leo knows the danger of AI to humanity. apnews.com/article/pope...

The Wiener’s Circle wins the internet. I love that place.

To quote a great one,”Everything dope comes from Chicago.”

MAGA will dislike any Pope who actually lives the Gospel. Blessings to Pope Leo.

Choosing Leo as his name is telling and exciting. Read Rerum Novarum by his predecessor namesake.

Early morning in Kherson, first responders saved a man from under the rubble. They got notified that there was someone under the debris showing signs of life. The rescuers worked despite difficult conditions and the threat of a double tap. The man now gets medical treatment ❤️‍🩹

A 98 year old World War 2 veteran, returned to his tank to destroy one last Nazi car. He has a message for Elon Musk, Tesla, Putin, Trump and the international regressive movement. We crushed fascism before, and we'll crush it again, so let's go shall we? #3E #teslatakedown

This administration is attempting to turn this country into someplace you wouldn’t want to live in. The scientific and academic brain drain is already in progress. Just like corporate CEOs, decisions are made for short-term profits instead of long-term sustainability. Real consequences to be had.

Color me shocked that the GOP can’t understand the difference between anti-semitism and anti-Zionism. I mean, they can’t understand the difference between biological sex and gender, so it tracks. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, Illinois! To all of our teachers: thank you for believing in our children, lighting the path ahead, and helping shape our great state's future. Each day, you step into your classrooms with a mission to inspire — and you do, again and again.

Didn’t MAGA folks have higher rates of infection and re-infection due to refusing the vaccination? This would explain A LOT.

How library books connect us with our community: I just picked up Dorothy Day’s autobiography *The Long Loneliness* from my library wait list (apparently it’s in big demand right now). How wonderful it is to read this well worn book with pencil annotations from other readers. (1/)
