We got one! HUNT FOR THE GOLDEN SCORPION (1991) becomes the 9️⃣1️⃣1️⃣th film we've found with an exploding helicopter. 🚁💥📽️

Watched CALIFORNIA SUITE (1978) the 1️⃣1️⃣1️⃣th film starring Michael Caine that I've seen. 👓📽️

New review, "Last Kumite" (2024), starring Mathis Landwehr, Matthias Hues, Cynthia Rothrock, Billy Blanks, and many others. dtvconnoisseur.blogspot.com/2025/06/last...

“With Bruce Willis in a cagoule.”

Watched THE STONE TAPE (1972). Quintessential Nigel Kneale: a brusque, no-nonsense, scientist leading an investigation into an ancient power. Might only be set in three rooms, but it's surprisingly effective.

Watched 28 YEARS LATER (2025) what the hell was that bed-shitting ending? Is Guy Ritchie going to be taking over this series?

Watched THE FAN (1996). Was this Robert De Niro's first pay cheque movie? A truly absurd thriller. Tony Scott throws his stylistic box of tricks at it, but it's nothing more than glossy trash.

#DTVDigest‌ 290: Reviews of RUST (Signature Entertainment), GOD'S SOLDIER (Miracle Media), LAST RESORT (Miracle Media), A WOMAN SCORNED (High Fliers Films) and more! The #DTVthrowback is THE DEVIL CONSPIRACY (2022) and the #ShortShot is LOGAN THE WOLF. Listen at bit.ly/DTVDigest290

We got one! Fred Olen Ray's VENOMOUS (2001) becomes the 9️⃣1️⃣0️⃣th film we've found with an exploding helicopter. 🐍🚁💥📽️ The second chopper fireball here is stock footage that was also used in another of Fred's films, Active Stealth (1999). Thanks to @thewykah.bsky.social for the tip-off!

Everything we know about men through the title of films: a list boxd.it/I4RNg

Watched DEAD MEN CAN'T DANCE (1997) a fun military actioner with Michael Biehn, Adrian Paul and R Lee Ermey. Here's a review by our buddies at @bulletproofpod.bsky.social www.bulletproofaction.com/2017/01/10/b...

New podcast, episode 215, "American Ninja 4: Annihilation" with Jeanette Ward from Mundane Adventures of a Fangirl. We start the episode off looking at the two most recent MCU films, then get stuck in on "American Ninja 4," a film full of colorful ninja outfits! open.spotify.com/episode/25js...

New on our YouTube channel, I look at the party scene in "Recoil," which was a request from Ty Comeuppance Reviews youtu.be/UhYyjPhj_Mg

"Jag Mundhra's first five star masterpiece... [An] edgy, sexy, and evocative work" - says Matty Budrewicz. NEW on The Schlock Pit tonight, it's WILD CACTUS (1993). theschlockpit.com/2025/06/18/w...

Watched FROM NOON TILL THREE (1976) filling in a hole in Charles Bronson's filmography. A comedy-romance no less, starring the quarry-faced action star. It's not the disaster that sounds. It's alright as it goes, but never more than a middling entertainment.

Our latest episode of GEORGE KENNEDY IS MY COPILOT has us going long on the George Kennedy-penned mystery novel MURDER ON LOCATION before we chat about the 1968 tough guy classic THE DIRTY DOZEN! LISTEN!

We got one! S10 E8 of ER becomes the 9️⃣0️⃣th episode of TV that we've found with an exploding helicopter. 🚁💥📺 Should've had this on my list before given how famous this scene was/is.

That sweet spot where detectives knew martial arts, had awesome mullets AND played jazz in night clubs.

Watched ASSIGNMENT K (1968). I'm fascinated by the career of Val Guest and he directs this sadly rather boring spy thriller. There are some nice touches here and there and the location photography is very good, but the drama doesn't work.

Watched TC 2000 (1993) post-apocalyptic spin on Robocop starring Billy Blanks, Jalal Merhi, Bolo Yeung and Matthias Hues. Really enjoyed this. Lots of fun and hand-to-hand fighting action. I particularly enjoyed Billy Blanks flat top hair and the guy who I can only describe as 'budget Stacey Keach'

We got one! S1 E1 of THE LIBRARIANS becomes the 8️⃣9️⃣th episode of TV we've found with an exploding helicopter. 🚁💥📺 Thanks to @beamjockey.bsky.social for the tip-off! 🙏

Excellent 'no look' use of a rocket launcher. 🚁💥

Watched BROTHERS TILL WE DIE (1977) Umberto Lenzi directed poliziotteschi with Tomas Milian in a double role playing brothers Pigsty and, erm, 'Humpo' the Hunchback. The bickering brothers team up for revenge after a heist goes wrong. Entertainingly violent.

The only film ever made where locust have caused a helicopter to explode. From LOCUSTS: THE 8TH PLAGUE (2005)

Watched ACROSS 110TH STREET (1972) impressively grimy and frequently nasty cops and robbers tale. This is the 8th Yaphet Kotto film I've watched this year. Am also doing a re-watch of Homicide: Life on the Street, so this is my year of Yaphet.

For got to mention that I was able to add this to my list of films where a cop eats a hotdog. Yaphet Kotto enjoys one with relish and mustard. boxd.it/UHAa

Watched THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR (1968). Would have sworn blind I'd seen this before, but it seems I'd just seen so many clips that I convinced myself I had. Delightful froth. Pure style over substance, but what style.
