Thank you TCHC and the Dan Harrison community for having me at the Pancake MIX breakfast this morning! It was great to join CEO Sean Baird making pancakes alongside tenants who are getting their start in the food service industry with their Food Handler Certificate through this program 🥞

The new Anishnawbe Health Toronto Indigenous Health Centre at 425 Cherry Street is truly remarkable. With a dental clinic, traditional healing, primary care, mental health supports and a training program, this new hub is the model of what comprehensive care should be.

It was great to be In The Ward with @canary_to for a walk around the Canary District! We talked about how we can enhance public spaces, improve accessibility and future-proof the neighbourhood for when its population multiplies.

This week I'm in Ottawa for the FCM conference, meeting with leaders from across the country. Yesterday I participated in a special session about applying an equity lens to municipal decision making. It was an important reminder of the considerations we have to as we implement new policies.

Accessibility Week continues! Today we're highlighting some of the ways we're making our streets safer and more accessible for everyone. These changes not only make our street more accessible, but also support local businesses and foster a more engaged community.

I am proud that we are enhancing equitable access to recreation with Early Local Registration at Regent Park Community Centre - an initiative I've been working on for years. By helping families register for free recreation programs, create new opportunities and support community wellbeing.

This week is National AccessAbility Week and we're highlighting ways we're breaking barriers together here at the City. Today, the spotlight is on improvements at King and College subway stations, including new elevators, exits and improved accessibility features. Stay tuned for project updates!

Stay cool this summer! The City of Toronto is providing FREE portable AC units to low-income seniors (age 65+) in multi-unit buildings. Apply online at toronto.ca/ACProgram, by phone, or in person from May 26 to June 6. Selected applicants will be notified and units distributed starting July.

Today I met with students from Earl Haig Secondary who are working on a documentary on the 2018 Yonge Street Van Attack. It's inspiring to see today's younger generation create space for conversations about issues that impact their community. I wish them all success on completing their documentary!

The LGBT Purge impacted tens of thousands of queer members of the military, RCMP and civil service in Canada who faced investigation, demotion and expulsion based on their sexual orientation. While these discriminatory practices ended in the 1990s, the LGBT purge continues in the US military.

It is great to see old friends and neighbours at the CWNA AGM today. For 15 continuous years, the CWNA has worked tirelessly to make Church-Wellesley a liveable and better neighbourhood.

Yesterday we reopened the beautifully restored Palm House Conservatory to the public 🌿 Green spaces like this in the downtown core are so special. I hope you will have the opportunity to visit Allan Gardens soon and explore all the horticultural wonders it has to offer!

I am very pleased that the renaming of the Dundas TTC Station to TMU Station was approved by the TTC Board today. The partnership between Toronto Metropolitan University and the TTC is an exciting opportunity for Toronto to distinguish itself as a leader in innovative transit solutions.

During #VolunteerAppreciationWeek, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the 127 volunteers at Fudger House who gave over 8,000 hours of their time this past year. Your compassion and dedication play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our City’s long-term care homes.

Today I joined the Toronto and York Region Labour Council to recognize the Day of Mourning for workers who lost their lives, became ill, or were injured on the job. I stand with workers, families and communities in the called for stronger protections and a renewed commitment to health and safety.
