It’s the same playbook. The one difference is that it seems the Irish are less tolerant of bullshit.
However, this could be naive optimism.

I’ve been in Ireland now for just over 3y. My 👧🏽 will be entering her 3rd year at the local Gaelschiol. The reception has been nothing but warm, welcoming and kind. I feel more welcomed here than I ever felt in my 35 years in America. That said, all the rise in anti immigrant fever is concerning.

In the famous words of the wordsmith and rapper Suga free:
“why you bullshittin’”?
Because:
A: he won’t understand scientifically based questions
B: nor will he understand policy based questions

Not a bit of communication so far. Is the “no news is good news” thing appropriate here

Is there an “airport industry” lobby? I’m not talking for airlines, I mean for the airport economies of the world, all the stores, restaurants, jobs that exist in airports that maybe wouldn’t exist in a series of train stations?

I moved to Ireland 3 yrs ago. During the first 1/2 of ‘24 I had 7 surgeries and a total 12 hospital stays. Total OOP costs were around €560 because I went to a private hospital 2x (which was very similar to the public option). It’s possible, just gotta do away with corporate greed in healthcare.

Lezgo. Been off the sauce for 2.5 years now. Took awhile to find my stride but it starts getting easier super fast. Good luck on your journey.

Facts. Not even just cancer treatments, just treatments in general. Last year, I spent the first 6 months in and out of the hospital totaling 12 surgeries and procedures here in Ireland. All in all cost me €350 out of pocket. Americas health care system is a joke.
