Last week we fell to 22nd place for LGBT+ rights in Europe. This week UN experts warn the UK about the situation for trans people. We hope the UK Government will do what they have urged - act decisively to restore and protect the rights of trans people. www.ohchr.org/en/press-rel...

We have written to the SPCB about their decision to ban trans women from women's toilets, and trans men from men's toilets in the Scottish Parliament. This decision will exclude and segregate trans people at the heart of Scotland’s democracy. Read our letter: www.scottishtrans.org/wp-content/u...

An opinion piece I wrote is in @scotnational.bsky.social today on the recent Supreme Court judgment and EHRC update. “Trans people’s lives deserve to be made better, not worse.” 🏳️‍⚧️ @lgbtiscotland.bsky.social @scottishtrans.bsky.social

Allies: we need your support more than ever before. We know that many people are feeling shocked and angry following yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling and are looking for ways to get involved and support the trans community.

FWS have won their case against the Scottish Government. We will be reading the judgement as quickly as possible so we can properly understand what the Court has decided today.

For the first time, a UN Committee has told the UK to improve LGBTQIA+ economic, social and cultural rights. You can read our blog post on this, ‘There’s Pride in Progress’, here: www.equality-network.org/our-work/pol...

Today I presented at the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights on LGBTQ+ human rights in Scotland. What an experience, chuffed to bits 😁🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Fantastic news that the majority of people in Scotland want to see the back of awful conversion practices. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

According to a new YouGov opinion poll, 2 in 3 adults in Scotland support a ban on so-called “conversion therapy” where people seek to change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Read the full press report here: www.equality-network.org/2-in-3-scots...

Today on #HumanRightsDay, we recognise & celebrate the positive role that human rights have played in improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ people. They should be enjoyed equally, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, and are vital to ensure we can live a dignified life.

We are attending the @povertyalliance.org annual conference today in Edinburgh hearing about effective campaigning techniques to achieve meaningful change in the anti-poverty and broader human rights movement. #MakingChange

Conversion practices seek to change or suppress who we are and who we love on the basis that being LGBTQA+ is "wrong", and that it's better to be heterosexual and/or cisgender. They still happen in Scotland, and that has to change. Find out more: equality-network.org/cp

Conversion practices still happen in Scotland today. They’re done on the false belief that LGBTQA+ people are broken and we need to be “fixed”. We’re not, and these harmful practices have to end. Find out more: equality-network.org/cp
