André Borschberg I photographed André Borschberg in the quiet of the H55 hangar at Palo Alto Airport, early in the day before we took flight. Light spilled softly across his face as he sat for the portrait, calm and collected, dressed in a flight jacket that told stories of squadrons, solar…

Out here at the bottom of the world, haloed by ice crystals and sun rings, it’s impossible not to feel small and infinite all at once. Wishing you a week where the ordinary cracks open to awe. Walk into it with your arms wide. The wonder is waiting. #Photography

If you know someone living a full, normal life with MS, there’s a good chance it’s thanks to @ucsfhealth.bsky.social's Dr. Stephen Hauser. His discovery, that B cells, not T cells, were the key, revolutionized treatment and gave millions their futures back. More: explorers.com/stephen-haus...

Greetings from the Far North!

Lush doesn’t begin to cover it. This is where green goes to dream. Ferns spill over stone, moss wraps everything in quiet velvet, blossoms whisper in pink and white. A garden so alive it feels like it’s breathing with you. #LeicaQ2 #Portland #LushLife #SecretGarden #Photography

“Millions of people are living freer lives because he stayed the course.” …(It’s)”not just what he’s accomplished, but that after all this time, he still walks forward with wonder.” ~ Christopher Michel, writer and photographer #science #medicine #photography #StephenHauser

New Heroes: Portrait of UCSF Professor Stephen L. Hauser for the @nationalacademies.org. More: explorers.com/stephen-haus... @nasonline.org @nam.edu

Stephen Hauser Stephen Hauser greeted me at the Weill Institute for Neurosciences at UCSF with the kind of presence that immediately quiets a room, not through authority, but warmth. There’s something patient and steady in his demeanor. The kind of person who, even after decades at the front lines…

The sea freezes in cartographer’s script, a cracked atlas of longing and latitude. The lines look like borders on some forgotten map, drawn by nature not nations. #Svalbard #Photography

Here are a few of the images featured in my new 2026 Elephants calendar. This is one of the few all-black-and-white themes I've published over the years, featuring African elephants photographed during my travels. 2026 calendars are currently 20% Off on my site.

They sail the polar winds, weightless as whispers, drawn by something no eye can see. Between ice and sky, they follow an ancient rhythm, known only to them. #Svalbard #Photography

Somewhere in that mist, the edge of the world holds its breath. #Svalbard #Photography

A lone polar bear climbs the shattered spine of Svalbard, where stone meets sky and winter clings on in patches. #Photography

Where the map fades, the sea breaks into puzzle pieces of ancient ice. This is 80 degrees north. #Photography

Alone. #Photography

The train moves. The man walks. The city trembles. In the rain, all fades.

Scenes from Sudan. And the BTS shot with me. #Mamiya 7II. #Photography

See less. Feel more. Think less. Walk more.

This is my 14th journey to the polar regions. Each visit feels both like a return and a revelation. People often ask why I keep going back. The answer is simple, though hard to explain. It’s the ethereal beauty, the silence that humbles you, and the sense of wonder that never fades.

At the edge of the world, a lone polar bear lowers its head to the turquoise meltwater of the High Arctic. Near Franz Josef Land, where the ice breathes and the silence holds its own gravity, this moment feels both ancient and imperiled. #photography

Interview: www.thephoblographer.com/2021/07/22/h...

An iceberg drifts through black Arctic water like a whispered thought in a sleeping mind. Its wake glows with stardust and salt; Greenland’s quiet ballet of light, shape, and surrender. #Photography

In the endless white, the bear is not alone. The land, the wind, the birds; they all know him. They always have. #Photography

Once the polar silence finds you, it never lets go.

Check out the photography of Loki Highlock, a "fogtographer". There's nothing like shooting in the fog and he does it wonderfully.

Catie Cuan In March 2025, I photographed Dr. Catie Cuan, a rare kind of technologist, one who does not merely study movement but inhabits it, shaping our understanding of both human and robotic motion in ways that feel at once inevitable and revolutionary. To… https://explorers.com/catie-cuan/
