Well shit fuck.

The New York Times on … :

The thing about being underground is that it sucks. Being able to walk in truth and light is much more pleasant than having to cloak yourself in shadows and lies out of fear.

Again this brings me back to the 2024 argument that Trump winning would be better for Gaza than Kamala winning because at least liberals would be protesting again; a paradigm which takes for granted that protests are the aim and not the method

Yes. Corporations are mostly ran by cowards and opportunists. You always want the cowards and opportunists on your side because they’re a reliable indicator of which way the wind is blowing.

I think a common complaint on here is that people are less likely to protest if they feel like they have less to protest about, which, like… that is the goal towards which protests are supposed to aim for, right?

note that this completely inverts the public justification for the deportation scheme. they claim they’re deporting criminals, but they deported Kilmar without knowledge of a crime, and now that they supposedly found one they’re bringing him BACK.

This right here 🎯

ro khanna begging for leon's attention does not mean THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY wants to welcome him into the fold. it means some basic bitch who rep's silicon valley wants his daddy back. stop conflating a couple weirdass randoms with a whole party.

It's kinda wild seeing people get mad that a single Dem isn't touching on every last point against Trump/Musk *in every single post*. If Chris Murphy *had* said that Trump was a pedophile racist in his post about people losing healthcare, people would be screaming about not mentioning deportations!

Remember when Republicans argued that changing the names of military bases and removing statues was tantamount to erasing history? They forgot to add that this only holds for straight white men, who made war on the United States during the Civil War.

The Trump team thinks Confederate traitors who killed Americans are worth honoring. But Americans who fought at Normandy in D-Day like Medgar Evers, or served in the Navy like Harvey Milk and Cesar Chavez, or worked as a spy for the US Army like Harriet Tubman, well, they are NOT worth honoring.

The New York Times insists on treating Christopher Rufo not as a far-right activist who has been successfully pushing an ideologically defined rightwing agenda, but as a respectable conservative voice and a serious interlocutor on key political issues. That is an active, deliberate choice.

Tay Melo is back to save Anna Jay!

As US companies shy away from the LGBTQ community, Japan's Family Mart is embracing it, launching a We Are Rainbow campaign with three other companies to celebrate Pride Month. A portion of profits from select products, such as its famous Famichiki, will support LGBTQ org ReBit. buff.ly/sSpG4e9

I read things like this and look at this site, where Dems can be shown to be doing the exact kind of thing that folks scream at them to do, only to get either ignored or screamed at for 'not good enough'. "If a dem fights in the forest, but people refuse to hear it, they must not have fought at all"

A lot of people got very mad at the consequences of the policies that produced these charts like real wage growth and low unemployment/hot labor markets inflationary effects also ending forever wars and ambivalent about drone war ending. the incentives are not great. reaction is lowkey blackpilling

its almost as if the "experts" on here don't know shit about how the Democratic Party is messaging on the ground and they're just watching social media because they think that's the whole ball game.

This is how the New York Times describes a sitting elected official suing the President for illegally arresting, detaining & defaming political opponents. “Lobbed a legal haymaker.” Everything is a game. EVERYTHING.

If you want any more proof of the abusive dynamic between Trump and the press, look no further than the NYT describing the brutal "you are all beneath me" glare of this Trump portrait as having a "slight warmth in the eyes". Real "he hits me because he cares" energy

only a newspaper that once ran an article titled "HERR HITLER AT HOME IN THE CLOUDS" could describe that portrait as demonstrating "warmth"

The fixation on the Democrats having the right platform before the public will vote for them is exactly backwards; the public needs to believe in the platform you want and your job as an activist (and even poster, frankly) is to get them there

I know this feels good, but we are on year *15* of the backlash to the last big healthcare bill and this very poaster does not seem to like what that has done to our politics

This is how you can really tell these people (not Proof) are full of shit; Democrats have spent more political capital on pushing towards universal healthcare than *any other issue* in the last forty years and people will still pretend they just inexplicably refuse to support it and lose as a result
